Relaxed Country Outdoor Bright Flowers & Mismatched Summer Wedding...

Oh Corinna and Adam, your beautiful midsummer wedding has me all in a tizz this afternoon. Gorgeous sunshine, bright and beautiful florals and mismatched décor made for a truly memorable celebration.

They set their wedding date for the 8 th June 2015 and opted to marry outdoors at The Secret Garden in Kent. Vintage crockery and a suitcase wedding cake really gave their wedding personality alongside the fun Michael Jackson impersonator to entertain the guests.

Corinna looked sensational in her lace gown with delicate sleeves and sash. Her hair style was super unique with a divine hair slide and feathered bird in her chic up do. There are so many wonderful moments here for you to enjoy lovelies.

Thanks so very much to the brilliant Photography by Vicki for providing the photographs.

THE PROPOSAL | It was on my favourite beach in Spain and as the sun rose over the mountains he got down on one knee in the sand and asked me to be his wife. I took a picture of the sunrise after I said yes and we used it on our wedding invitations.

THE VISION | I ultimately wanted a relaxed country wedding that felt like a get-together rather than a wedding with lots of flowers and bright summer colours.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | Well we were living in Spain when we started planning the wedding and were initially going to have it over there but due to family reasons we had to move back to the UK and then started planning it in Kent. We managed to get it all wrapped up in about 6 months from when I moved back. It was stressful at times but my sister was sooo organised and helpful that she took a lot of the thinking out of it for me... I don't like making decisions, particularly when there are so many lovely things to choose from.

BUDGET | £11500.

THE VENUE | The Secret Garden in Mersham, Ashford, is an old coach house which is part of the Mountbatten estate. An absolutely incredible venue, it suited us to the ground. So relaxed and country, with the gardens and miss matched crockery! As soon as we went in it felt right and this was only made better by the incredible staff there, particularly Laura from 'The Lizard'. They made the day go perfectly and I couldn't have asked for more.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | I always wanted lace and something to suit my curvy figure. Initially I wanted a very fitted dress but once I started trying them on I soon realised what you imagine is not always best. I wasn't even going to try 'my dress' on in the shop, my sister found it and asked me to try it on for size but as soon as I got it on we all knew it was 'the one'. I also wasn't going to have a veil but that got tagged on about a week before the wedding when we went to collect my dress, my mum thought it would be a good idea and to be fair she was right, the lifting of the veil was a lovely moment. I also wanted to have a different belt for my dress, more Vera Wang, and the one they tried on me in the shop for an idea was perfect but not for sale. I spent weeks looking for an alternative but nothing, then after a plea to the shop they agreed to give it to me which was wonderful. I'm not one for convention and wanted to have my own personality showing in how I looked so I was determined to have a feathered bird in my hair (as they're my favourite thing but not to my Mum's taste) and spent a long time finding the right one. I loved it and in the end so did everyone else. I initially also wanted fresh flowers in my hair but in the end found an exquisite had a handmade hair slide made of antique jewellery, beads, accessories and roses that was just perfect, my Mum then had a matching corsage which was lovely.

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Him being him, he wanted to wear shorts and flip flops but that was a step too far for my Mum so he was pretty good about it all and agreed to let me pick it out. We went for a fitted light grey suit with tan accessories and a lovely blue Hugo Boss tie and blue shirt; I think it brought out the blue in his eyes.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | I chose his Mum and Sister to do readings for us which we had chosen. His Mum also wrote a lovely blessing to us which was so touching. His Sister cried whilst reading hers which just reaffirmed what a loving a caring family I was being welcomed into. For my entrance piece I had 'The Heart Asks Pleasure First' by Michael Nyman as this piece is so beautiful and special to me; my Sister used to play it in the piano room below my bedroom as I went to sleep as a child and made me feel very peaceful. Then for the signing of the registry and walk back down the aisle we had Nina Simone's 'Feeling Good', Michael Jackson's 'PYT' and Rudimental's 'Feel the Love'; all songs that remind us of each other. In the evening, as my gift to the groom, I had a Michael Jackson impersonator (the ONLY thing he had asked for even though he didn't think I'd actually get one) which was a unique experience but so funny and he loved it which was the most important thing. Then later we had a wonder band that I love, The Violet Jive, which just topped off a perfect day.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | My Sister and friend Amanda. I couldn't have asked for more from them and they were amazing the whole way through. I'm so glad they were a part of our perfect day. I initially wanted them in different dresses and that they were allowed to choose themselves, adding to my relaxed day, but in the end they went for the same dress! And they looked stunning as always.

THE FLOWERS | My florist, who has a shop on site at the venue, was wonderful. I asked for vibrant colours and textures and my god did she deliver. They were perfect! I also bought a bouquet that I could throw as I wanted to dry mine (we'll see around Christmas time how that's turned out - all done by my florist as well) which was caught by my Mother-in-Law and then re-tossed to be caught by my Sister-in-Law! She also decorated the venue with the same beautiful flowers in gorgeous old tea pots and vases which fit in perfectly. The buttonholes were also so striking and stunning. I didn't realise how much I loved Sempervivums until we started planning all this and she incorporated them so beautifully.

THE CAKE | This was a big deliberation for me as I love to bake and wanted it to be perfect, I also couldn't decide how I wanted it to look but in the end went for something unique to us. Suitcases to represent our love to travel with stickers of photos of places we've been to and loved over the years. Then brightly coloured hibiscus and roses with olive branches (for Spain and England), a bird house and two little birds (for us and the start of our married lives). It was gorgeous and tasted great; we were eating cake for weeks! The top tier was chocolate, the middle carrot cake and the bottom Victoria sponge; satisfying my love of cake and all its flavours!

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | What can I say, Vicki was incredible. I chose her for her use of colour and eye and she didn't let me down. She got everything I asked for and more and the photos are amazing reminders of a wonderful day. She's such a lovely lady and so thoughtful. Her little package with my USB and a selection of printed photos (a lovely little surprise) was so cute. I would recommend her to anyone, even if I don't want to share her ;D My sister has already said she would use her whenever she gets married.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | I wanted mismatched, colourful and country and that's what we got. It was so us and made me feel so relaxed on the day. The tables were a mix of round and square with white linen table cloths and bare cane chairs. There was mismatched crockery and thick chunky glasses adorned with embossed bees. For favours I had seed bundles made up by a lovely lady on Etsy, they were vintage country fabrics containing flower seeds that once planted will attract bees and butterflies (I wanted something different and as I love nature these were perfect). There was bunting hanging from the beams, comfy sofas, carved wooden screens and mismatched mirrors; everything was perfect.

THE HONEYMOON | Thanks to the incredible generosity of our wonderful friends and family we will be having a Honeymoon but we haven't actually booked one yet. As I miss Spain so terribly I'm clouded by wanting to go there but am being reminded that a Honeymoon should be once-in-a-lifetime so I'm coming round to a more adventurous trip but we'll have to wait and see. Instead of independent gifts, this was our one most special gift.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | I literally cannot choose some memorable moments as the whole day was so memorable and perfect that I can't do anything the injustice of being left out.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Do it how you want to do it, don't let others tell you what to do and just enjoy the day for what it is. Remember that you are still the same two people that have been together for however long, don't let marriage change what makes you great as a couple.
