Where do I even begin this fine Wednesday morning? For this wedding is just all kinds of fun and fabulous.

WWW readers Elle and John tied the knot on the 13 ^th June 2015 and held their reception at Dovecote Barn in Oxfordshire. They both adore St. Ives, where they got engaged and so wanted to include the sea in their day. Hence the feathers, shells and slate theme throughout the details and décor, which were all lovingly hand made.

Elle's stunning gown was created by The Couture Company and I just love the surprise flash of colour, while John had a bespoke King and Allen suit and the maids wore glam sequin dresses. Good times, decadent gold touches and smiles galore.

THE PROPOSAL | St Ives in Cornwall. Hubby wanted to take us on a surprise weekend away, we ended up at The Black Moon in St Ives - amazing place, right above the sea with its own personal cave which is accessed by climbing down a ladder under the front room (which also has a glass floor so you can see right into the cave!)

Shortly after being hit by a massive wave (it was November so it freshened him up! - yet he also said it calmed him down!) Hubby took me back to the Black Moon, put me in the bedroom while he set up a heart of candles on the glass floor, with loads of rose petals. He then took me in blindfolded and proceeded to propose - though I had to ask him to do it again as I was blindfolded with a massive scarf I couldn't hear/see anything, all I knew was that he seemed to kneel down!

THE VISION | We have always loved the sea, especially St. Ives, so we took our inspiration from all the black slate, shells and feathers which are always washed up on the shore line. Love all the green moss on the rocks and the beautiful little succulents and hardy plants you see in the warmer parts of the UK.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | Pinterest was my obsession! Trying to find as many ways as possible to make absolutely everything and to make it as personal as possible and reflect our favourite place. Engagement was 18 months, but to be honest, that felt like ages until there was about 6 months to go and then panic set in!

BUDGET | Started at around £14,000, then of course it grew and grew so final cost was around £17,500 not including honeymoon.

THE VENUE | St. Mary's Church in West Adderbury, Oxfordshire. Then on to Dovecote Barn on Bo Peep Farm in Adderbury, Oxfordshire.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | The Couture Company, Birmingham.

FINDING THE DRESS | I went to 6 different bridal shops in the end (trying on about 6 in each) and only ever liked parts of the dresses, but nothing came close to my overall vision I had dreamt of. Jo from The Couture Company was my fairy godmother, I had the vision of a dress which looks like waves at the bottom, and also wanted a flash of colour underneath to show my inner quirkiness! We designed it together and she created exactly what I saw in my head. She added some lace from the dress to the veil too so it matched!

GROOM'S ATTIRE | King and Allen bespoke suits. Hubby wanted a subtle navy check, also with a pop of colour so had his lining of jacket and waistcoat in a bright burnt orange.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | I walked down the aisle to Mumfords & Sons - Ghosts That We Knew - an emotional song to us as it symbolised John being my knight in shining armour, saving me from quite a bit of heartache and struggles in the past.

Our first dance was played by the amazing 'Revolver', a covers band. We wanted to be something we could let loose on, so we chose Kings of Leon - Use Somebody which was another song we have always loved together.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Brilliant finds in TKmaxx! I wanted my bridesmaids to feel glamorous and to be able to wear their dresses again. They all instantly loved them, easiest process ever!

THE FLOWERS | A lady from the church, Sandra helped us with the bouquets, mine were a few white peonies and some gypsophlia, the bridesmaids just plain gypsophlia. In the venue my mum did all the gypsophlia and our ushers potted about 40 succulents in gold dipped jars.

THE CAKE | I knew from the start I didn't want a traditional wedding cake, I love cake so taste was very important to me! We used Bake who I've ordered from quite a few times now (any excuse!) and they are always so lovingly made and rustically decorated perfectly! We had 3 flavours, Red Velvet which they put gold leaf on for us as the cutting cake, then rocky road and carrot cake. Everything was eaten on the day!

To complement the cake as hubby loves brownies more than cake, my good friend Charli Brennan made 70 brownies as a wedding gift. They were the best I had ever tasted - again all got eaten!

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Sassy from Assassynation - the very 1 ^st supplier I booked! - amazing natural skills and such a lovely person.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Absolutely everything I made myself. The invitations I hand drew the design, photographed and then used throughout the stationery on place cards, table plan, Mr & Mrs comments cards etc. I wanted to subtly incorporate the seaside with shells etc so that's how I sneaked them in. I hand painted about 1,500 feathers (goose & pheasant) to use in the centre pieces etc but mainly for my 4 big feather chandeliers. They took months of work and some interesting hanging contraptions which we had to keep away from our little kitten - cats love feathers! I also made 3 Juju hats for behind the cake. The 'Cake' and 'Bar' sign from scraps of old wood found in a barn. The favours were handmade key rings and painted gold shells. Oh and pompom flowers!

THE HONEYMOON | Bali, Seminyak. - best place ever!

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Hubby's face as I walked down the aisle. The rain enabling me to show off my coloured underskirt even more than planned! The tug of war. Our amazing Hudson Pacemaker (borrowed from John's cousin). Everyone just constantly smiling and seeing all the hard work paying off.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | 1. You don't have to follow every tradition, make the day a reflection of your loves as a couple. 2.On the day things will go wrong... but embrace it, it creates memories and the only thing that truly matters is you marrying the love of your life. 3.The day goes too quick, make sure you have a few one on one moments with your new hubby.
