Camille and Andrew became engaged during a visit to Vancouver, where Camille grew up. The couple went for a walk around Camille's old neighbourhood, Yaletown, when it started pouring rain-hard. "I turned around, and the next thing I knew, Andrew was on one knee proposing," Camille recalls.

When it came to planning the decor, the couple only had two requirements: For there to be lavender, and chill, happy vibes. "Lavender smells so lovely, but it also served as a tribute to my mother, who loved the flowers," Camille shares. "Our venue, The Burroughes, was the perfect place to hold the relaxed, contemporary celebration we were envisioning-especially its cool rooftop patio."

Guests were served multicultural food and drinks at the reception, including Thai cuisine, South African, French and Canadian wines and Chinese beers. "We also had the best coffee from Boxcar Social served at the end of the night," Camille adds. "Everyone loved it."

The couple says the entire night was filled with special moments. "We were fortunate to celebrate Andrew's grandmother's ninetieth and my grandmother's eightieth birthdays, and our parents' speeches were incredibly touching," Camille smiles. "The best part was being surrounded by our closest friends and family members, many of whom had travelled far to be there. It was unforgettable."
