Bohemian Black Tie Hollywood Wedding: Lindsey + Saman

Bohemian Black Tie Hollywood Wedding: Lindsey + Saman

via

Lindsey + Saman, who met through Lindsey's sister at a USC college party, chose a venue that felt like their own backyard, Hollywood's Lombardi House, so they could make sure their guests felt relaxed + comfortable as well as easily carry out their underlying 'college football' theme! The term 'underlying' is key in this phrase, because to the untrained college football eye, all we see is pretty, pretty, pretty. But Lindsey shares, We had a few wedding day details make our theme known: our dog Rutherford walked down the aisle with a green/yellow/red leash, we had Oregon duck and USC trojan leggos on the top of our cake, and we named our "his and hers" drinks after our teams (hers: "Duck and Stormy"... for a dark and stormy, and his: "Cardinal and Gold Fashioned" for an old fashioned).

So, so fun! Big thanks to Mary of Floataway Studios for the gorgeous images + congrats to L + S on a beautiful day!

Saman and I are both really into fashion and college football. From day one Saman's wedding "must have" was black tie attire. Mine was a dramatic color palette.. to give our wedding an 'Anthropologie'-type vibe. Our wedding, while classic, was eclectic and full of personality. One of my bridesmaids put it best, coining the term "bohemian black tie"... saying, and I quote, "you are the only person who could pull off a bohemian black tie wedding". And I think we did (pull it off I mean)! We were thrilled with how everything turned out.

Foxtail Florals captured Lindsey's palette vision perfectly in this gorge, textural burgundy bouquet.

We completely adore Lindsey's Leanne Marshall wedding dress, and her bridesmaids' pastel + floral print dresses! Shop their look in our guide below :)

There are so many! One thing that was super important to us was to write our own vows. It meant so much for us to be able to stand in front of 200 of our closest family and friends to tell one another how we feel. We both cried.. a lot. After the ceremony our vows were all people could talk about! Apparently everyone else ALSO cried! The fact that our vows spoke to so many, and more importantly, let everyone in to our relationship on a deeper level was great. It set the tone for a romantic, love-filled night of laughing, dancing, and drinking!

Processional: Wedding Party: Here comes the sun - Beatles (instrumental); Bride: Can't Help Falling in Love - Elvis (instrumental)

Recessional: Heros - David Bowie

First Dance: I Found You - Alabama Shakes

Circa Rentals had the perfect lounge pieces to help bring together the bohemian vibe!

And on the tabletops, Casa de Perrin 's colored glassware gave the reception a festive feel and carried the jewel tone palette throughout.

Invest a lot of your up front time into the things that will give you the most memories. It's true what they say - your big day is over in the blink of an eye. Once it's over you'll just have the memories and the best way to relive them is through photos and video. If you didn't get a specific photo you wanted, for example, you can't go back in time to get it. SO - we recommend spending more time than you'll probably think necessary on getting a 'shot list' together. It'll be worth it when it's all over. At the last minute we had a disco ball installed. It was a small add that did break the bank a bit but it was a huge add. It gave our night that magical, romantic vibe we wanted. It was so worth it! Start thinking early on about those little details - the small ones that create huge impact - and work them in to your big day.
