Romantic Pink Wedding with a Touch of Rock 'n' Roll

Oh boy, do we have a treat of a real wedding for you guys today!

Nikki & Philip celebrated their big day with a gorgeous, flower-filled wedding in Santa Barbara, with pretty vintage decor, retro tunes and cool rock'n'roll vibes throughout.

It was styled to perfection by Jill Remy of Jill & Co. Events, and beautifully photographed by Miki & Sonja Photography.

With one of the most fabulous peony bouquets we've ever seen, a magical ceremony backdrop, elegant bridal party style, and a vintage cake topper worthy of Elvis & Priscilla's big day, this cool California wedding is laden down with ideas, you're going to want to pinch.

We love it when a wedding can be stylish, luxurious, romantic, and truly personal, all rolled into one.

This is one of those weddings that has something for everyone, and we think you're going to love it!

Wedding Day Snapshot

The Inspiration

Our wedding was vintage, shabby chic and very feminine inspired. The first piece of decor I bought for the wedding was a vintage Cadillac car cake topper from BHLDN and that is what started it all! After that I spent all days off going antiquing, searching for vintage cake toppers, cake stands, tea cups, doilies, you name it! After that, my theme really came to life. The colors of our wedding were pink, blush, gold, with hints of ivory.

The Dresses

My dress was mermaid style, very, very form fitting with with two different lace patterns overlaying each other, the color of my Casablanca dress was a mix of champagne, blush and ivory. My shoes were gold glitter, peep-toe with a bow, Kate Spade heels. My bridal party wore pale blush/pink, empire waist, strapless Bari Jay gowns with gold strappy heels. My matron of honor wore a stunning rose gold, all sequin dress from Rent the Runway with vintage Betsey Johnson heels. Very vintage inspired!

We had pale shades of pink garden roses all over, in the bridal bouquet, arbor, and loose in the pond. In the bridesmaid bouquets, there was also hydrangea, stock, berzillia berry, dusty miller, and spray roses. We had urns flanking the arbor and floral g uest table centerpieces. The bouts were grey thistle and dusty miller, wrapped in tiny black velvet ribbon.

The Flowers

We definitely spent the most on flowers and it was absolutely WORTH IT. Our flowers were so breathtaking I could have worn a potato sack down the aisle and I don't think anyone would have noticed!

The Budget

Many personal songs, where do we start! My bridal party and groomsmen walked down to the Vitamin String Quartet's version of 'Free Bird' by Lynyrd Skynyrd, I walked down the aisle also to their version of 'Wild Horses' by Rolling Stones. Once we said 'I do' the played 'Luck be a Lady Tonight' by Frank Sinatra. During cocktail hour we had the fabulous Luca Ellis singing live versions of our favourite oldies. Inside the ballroom, the DJ was given specific songs to play, all handpicked and nothing modern! Classic 50s and 60s rock. We shared our first dance to Al Greens's 'Let's Stay Together' and finished the night with some Prince and Tupac once some of the family had called it a night.

The Music

I can't say there was a particular favorite moment, our whole wedding from beginning to end was a dream come true and so special. One thing that does stand out as ''so me'' was having our classic 56' chevy 210 parked in front of El Encanto, we took portraits front of it and strung custom made signs on it with our wedding date and of course the classic 'Just Married' on the back. That car is my prized possession and having it there made our wedding that much more special, plus it of course went along with our vintage theme!

Our Favourite Moments

We just loved Miki and Sonja's ery romantic and felt more personal than most we had seen. Not to mention once we met them, we fell in love with how much fun they were and we really 'clicked'!

The Photography

My mother in law came across El Encanto by herself after we had collectively spent a couple weeks (maybe even months) of looking at every venue in Santa Barbara, when we were just about getting discouraged she found THE SPOT! And once we ended up taking a tour ourselves, we new right away it was just perfect. The deciding factor was definitely the lily pond, which is where we said 'I do'. Not to mention the gorgeous SB views of the ocean on a clear day and the overall feel of the place: comfy cottage-like rooms perfectly decorated and a staff that is friendly and welcoming. Oh and I cant forget to mention that my grandparents honeymooned there in the 50s!!! It couldn't be more meant to be!

The Venue

The wedding favors were all handmade by myself and my mother, we made pink hard candy large lollipops that had gold sprinkles inside wrapped individually in a clear bag with a pink tag bearing our initials. In case that wasn't enough, we also slaved away making individual clear boxes of pink peppermint bark.

The Decor & Details

Our wedding cake was a dream! Three tiered, all pink with ivory lace appliques, a handmade fresh flower mini arbor that framed a vintage cake topper from the 50s. The flavors were half red velvet and white chocolate with raspberries, the groom's cake was red velvet as well with of course, the vintage Cadillac cake topper.

The Wedding Cake

We had a magical honeymoon in paradise, AKA Bora Bora.

The Honeymoon

Didn't we tell you it was gorgeous? That bouquet is just incredible, and the styling is so pretty, such a cool mix of pink and sparkle, but with enough retro elements to keep it cool!

Be inspired by more amazing real weddings.

Thanks so much to Jill & Co. Events, Miki & Sonja Photography, and our awesome newlyweds, Nikki and Philip for sharing their beautiful Santa Barbara wedding with us.
