Carven's invite was so good you could have almost skipped the show. There it was, contained in a keychain-like piece of memorabilia worth it's weight in ... what would that be? Amthyst? Ruby?

While we always love it when the house of Carven touches back to it's heyday-the era of the go-anywhere, do-anything '50s and '60s-the thought of creative designers Alexis Martial and Adrien Caillaudaud going all mystical and new age, too? Pretty compelling stuff.

Carven is known for making the kind of clothes that French girls-and thus, all the girls around the globe-want to wear. And there's something in the DNA of the brand that pulls it toward mod mini skirts and graphic motifs. For Fall 2016, the emphasis was both of the earth and beyond it-marble (check the show's set design) and crystal.

While the graphic only turned up one sweatshirt, it's influence was felt throughout. Soft lavender and pastel tones had big impact and an otherworldly travel vibe pervaded.

When it came to natural elements, knits, jackets, and leather (and leather-like) pieces in perfect fall weights showed up in exactly the kinds of cozy tones you start looking for each autumn.

But just keep in mind, come September or so: If you find yourself thinking about a more mystical take on the season: certain fuzzy gemstone shades can be earthy, too.
