Ryan and Mallory are both from the great state of Georgia, so of course they love all things Southern. Taking their love for the South and tying in their family history they created one stylish and lovely wedding. From the beautiful gardens where they said their vows, to the mason jars favors, their day was filled with thoughtful details. One of our favorites was their painted canvas ceremony. A must see!

have a "not first look"
Before the ceremony, Ryan and I decided to do a "not first look" at a tree my dad planted when he was young. Ry stood on one side, and I on the other as we prayed over our marriage. "He plants trees to benefit another generation," could not be truer for us! One of my favorite things about our wedding was getting take a few photos with our pups! Our photographer, Simply Sarah Photography, did a wonderful job of capturing their sweet (and goofy) personalities. Above all, we are so thankful for all of our family and friends who helped make that day a dream come true. It was the perfect start to this new chapter.
a venue to last generations
We were married at my grandparent's farm under a breathtaking, massive oak tree, right beside where my great-great grandfather built a house in 1907. Though that house is now gone, it sat on the exact spot where Ryan and I made our promises to one another. The day was filled with items passed down through generations. My mom surprised me with an embroidered handkerchief that had belonged to my grandmother who passed several years ago. We also used Ryan's great-grandmother's bible for the ring-bearer "pillow". It was amazing to have part of them with us on that day.
fun vintage postcard guestbook
Because we didn't get married at a traditional venue, there was A LOT of work to do to prepare as well as several DIY projects. We created our own programs, signage, favors, banners, etc. My sweet husband had the best guestbook idea. We found some old shutters at a flea market, painted them, and attached vintage postcards for people to sign and place in an old mailbox. This was so much fun for our guests, and we got some hilarious "wish you were here" postcards!
