We're kicking off the week with a day full of real weddings and this post-wedding session from Jamie Lauren Photography is full of lace, elegant heirloom details and true love at the Carmel Mission Basilica...

From Jamie: "I approached Travis and Traci about shooting a post-wedding session in California after seeing photos of them last summer on their wedding day. I remember thinking how natural and vibrant they were in front of the camera. I was also mesmerized by the beauty of and story behind Traci's dress which was handcrafted using pieces of both of her grandmothers' wedding gowns as well as elements from her mother's wedding dress. It had such a lovely old world feel and I envisioned photographing the couple in an equally old world location to highlight the beauty of the gown."

"I really love post-wedding photo sessions as they encompass all of the passion and romance of a wedding day, without any of the wedding-day stress! The opportunity to slow down and take time to craft a romantic ambience and let the couple's love for one another dictate the shoot rather than a down-to-the-minute timeline is such a gift and allows for so much spontaneity and organic beauty to unfold. We can choose the location and time to allow for the most ideal light and atmosphere which really enhances the entire mood of the session, much like an engagement shoot. They're my most favourite type of portrait sessions and I'd love to do more!" "When I heard that Traci and Travis were planning a trip down the west coast, I contacted Traci and asked if they would be interested in donning their wedding attire once more for a post-wedding photo session at the Carmel Mission, an 18th century gem that's about as old as it gets on the west coast. Traci and Travis jumped at the opportunity and we set to planning an elegant but fresh photo shoot that would highlight the dress, the California mission architecture, and most of all, the couple's deep love and newly married bliss." "We worked with Lindsay Skog from Salon 645 in Pleasanton, CA who styled Traci's hair and makeup and Reba LeBlanc Anderson from Lily White Events in Livermore, CA who helped style the session and crafted the floral arrangement. Accessories were provided by myself. The pretty hand mirror pictured in some of the shots was actually a thank-you gift from Traci and Travis to me which I was excited to work into the shoot."
