The reimagined Ebell Club of Long Beach is largely inspired by 1940s Cuba with a modern twist. And after undergoing an extensive remodel, the venue was ready for its close up with Brooke from Orange Blossom Special Events + photographer Suzy Van Dyke. To the team, the courtyard (where wedding ceremonies are commonly held) with its beautiful tilework was the perfect place to stage the editorial. It was already reminiscent of vintage Cuba, so from there a gorgeous theme began to take shape.

From the beginning, dress designer + stylist, Miss Tashina, was very involved with the overall aesthetic. When she mentioned that she grew up listening to the music of Buena Vista Social Club, the Orange Blossom team became inspired to have a live band on set during the shoot. Brooke says, Dave Damiani of No Vacancy Entertainment provided some talented artists for the shoot and it was so fun to have them there. Not only were the musicians and their instruments great visuals for Suzy to snap photos of, they more importantly set the mood on shoot day and inspired every last one of us.

What an amazing Miss Tashina dress, right?! Their designs are made from new + re-purposed materials and are perfect for the unique and vintage-loving bride.

Now that's a bouquet as magnificent as its surroundings! Brooke says, There's no way this shoot would have been as beautiful without the genius of Inessa Nichols Design, who created a picture-perfect tropical centerpiece and alter arrangements.
