Bush weddings are unique to South Africa and definitely something we can be so proud of. Laura and Jacob got married at Kuthaba Lodge just outside of Modimolle. My flatmate met Jacob on December holiday through mutual friends. One afternoon
while chatting and having a glass of wine she mentioned to me that she thinks he would
be great for me. At first I thought she just wanted to get rid of the guy. She sent him
a picture of me and he immediately started chatting. Our first date was a Skype chat. Two
weeks later he came through for our first real date and three months later, moved to
Pretoria.

It all started as a white lie going to The Cape for a conference and I joined him. Not
expecting a thing! We stayed the weekend with family and he left on the Sunday for this
'conference'. The Monday, my brother, sister and myself had a wine tasting morning in
Stellenbosch and met up with Jacob in Franschoek for lunch. Jacob and I booked in at
our guesthouse for sun downers and he had made a reservation for that evening at the
famous Reuben's restaurant. We had an amazing evening and dinner and when I returned
from the bathroom, there was my ring on a flower, and Jacob went on his knees. I said
YES of course!

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

How do I choose a memorable moment out of all the perfect memories? Walking down
the aisle, seeing all our loved ones and of course Jacob's face will always be so special!
Being so close to nature and in God's presence - one could feel it in the wind that
stopped blowing.

Magical, being so humble in nature!

I wanted our personalities and style to be reflected throughout our wedding and I can say,
mission accomplished! Do what you like, you will have a lot of suggestions from other
people but keep it in mind and use the helpful ones. Word of mouth referrals for suppliers and service providers are the best!
