Get the Looks: Street Style at Thakoon and Derek Lam

Gimlet-eyed Crystal Nicodemus is busy snapping street-style starlets during NYFW. Here are her photos to inspire you for next season, or this, and some wardrobe picks to help you get the look.

I can always count on Chriselle ( thechrisellefactor.com) for an amazing, on-trend outfit. Knits are major this season, and Chriselle's textural mix is right on par. She somehow makes cozy, relaxed fabrics look sleek and high fashion by mixing different colors and cuts. Simple accessories let her statement knits shine, while white loafers add some modern pop to the look. Here's hoping I run into the lovely Chriselle again tomorrow!

How cute are these two ladies outside Derek Lam? The moto jacket continues to dominate the street-style scene, no matter what the weather. This week, I've seen a rise in embellished styles, especially in back patch details. I can't get enough of that adorable green and red heart moto, and I love the pairing of tough leather with a soft ribbed knit. A quilted black style and leather mini is a classic downtown cool look.

Working as a fashion editor at Garance Doré ( garancedore.fr) and being a mega-popular stylist, Brie and Megan live up to high fashion expectations. Denim continues to be a must-have at Fashion Week, which pleases me to no end. I love the casual edge that denim brings, especially with cool details like raw edges and loose fits. It's nice to see a more relaxed energy at FW. The pajama-style top is a trending piece, as is the dress over pants, so these two babes are right on the money.

Yasmin Sewell is one of my all-time favorite street-style stars. She's creative, unique and, best of all, has a positive attitude. It can be tough to keep a smile on your face as Fashion Week wears on, but Yasmin has a sense of humor about the chaos. Stylistically, she is unpredictable in the very best way. She doesn't shy away from trying new lines and combinations, and she always (I really mean always) looks awesome. I am loving this retro Victor/Victoria mash-up: the floral maxi, the belted blazer, the flat-top boater. Thank you for the continued inspiration, Yasmin!

Celine Aagaard is a blog superstar with well-deserved style acclaim. She recently launched her new site ( envelope.no) and has been making the rounds at all the shows this week. I love Celine's Scandinavian sensibilities; she has a knack for mixing styles and trends while maintaining her Nordic minimalism. Navy has been a hot color this season, and I love the crisp contrast of a cool white blouse and accessories. This retro military belted vest coat is the epitome of fresh and modern.
