Caryn and Tony got engaged during a trip to South Africa, at a resort that Caryn grew up visiting with her family. "It meant so much that we were engaged somewhere that holds such a special place in my heart," Caryn shares.

As a wedding planner, Caryn had seen every style of wedding under the sun, but she and Tony actually didn't have a specific theme in mind for their big day. "We just wanted our day to feel like one big end-of-summer party for our guests and ourselves," Caryn recalls.

The couple decided on decor featuring Caryn's favourite neutral colours-grey, gold and cream-as well as Tony's favourite colour, orange. The couple also included a number of personalized details in their day. "I paid tribute to my hometown in South Africa by including gold spray-painted "big five" animals, and photos of the trip to South Africa when Tony proposed," Caryn smiles. "My wonderful florist, Cedar & Stone, also added lots of gorgeous protea flowers, which are indigenous to South Africa."

Entertainment was another top priority for the couple, who love to visit piano bars during their travels. "Luckily, we have two talented friends who are duelling pianists and they agreed to perform at our wedding," Caryn explains. "They added an incredible amount of energy and fun to the party atmosphere, and were truly a highlight of the night."

Caryn's absolute favourite moment was the first look she had with Tony. "This is one of those rare times where you are truly alone with your husband-to-be," Caryn says. "It was nice to take a few breaths and let it all sink in before our guests arrived and the ceremony began."
