It is hard to say there were any single memories that I enjoyed the most, other than time I was able to spend alone with my new husband. When I walked down the aisle, when we said our vows and were announced as husband and wife - those were the reasons we were celebrating that day and those were the memories I will cherish the most. The day goes by so quickly! No matter how tightly scheduled your day is, find the time to be with your new husband/wife. Our reverend gave us a wonderful tip, he said to find moments to have a "time-out" and express to one another what you are experiencing. He said that time will pass much more slowly if we take these moments and this could not have been more true!

Being someone who loves planning and loves details, I wanted to design my own wedding. For the first year, I thought I had it all under control. I had the venue, the vendors and I had a lot of details planned for design but about two months before the wedding I realized there were a lot more details than I anticipated. I had hired a day-of wedding coordinator to help with implementing my design the day of the wedding, I thought that would be the only help I needed. Although my coordinator, Lotta, began helping me weeks before the wedding, she did a lot more than just coordinate. She gave me great ideas and of course designed a lot more than she was required to; not only prior to the wedding but also through improvising the day of. A lot of improvising happens the day of the wedding, having a professional to handle that is imperative. It took experiencing my own wedding day to realize how much a coordinator actually does, I could not have done it without her! My advice, spend the extra money and hire a full time wedding coordinator; even though I enjoyed planning my own wedding, I would have had far less stress if I had someone handling the details early on.

Another tip, take your time in finding the perfect vendors. I spent weeks looking for each vendor individually because finding vendors who were experienced and professional made our experience that much more enjoyable. My photographers made one of the biggest positive impacts on my experience, the amount of detail they paid attention to prior to the wedding made me feel relaxed but also cared for as a couple. Over the months approaching our wedding day, I received various wedding day tips, questions about our photography preferences and even quick emails expressing their excitement about our wedding day approaching. Finding vendors that take the time to get to know you and care about your experience will make your experience that much greater
