Jackson Hole is famously known for its mountains, cowboys, and epic ski culture. After living in Jackson for over 10 years now, I have seen this place grow and change in a constant effort to remain relevant as a top travel destination. One of the most notable improvements is the quality and service of new restaurants that have emerged in past 5 years - we're talking really good food. With all these changes and expectations however, most of what makes Jackson Hole special has remained the same. The rugged, no frills nature of this place endures, even among the luxury hotels that keep popping up! And even one of those new fancy establishments is staying true to the unique character of Jackson and the American West - and after a recent tour, I highly recommend it. There's a lot to do here. If you plan to visit Jackson Hole, these are my top highlights to see, eat and play.

Visit Grand Teton National ParkVisit Mormon Row

Picture worthy is an understatement. One of the most photographed and recognized places is Mormon Row. The iconic barns and surrounding property are famous for their bustling herds of bison.

SUP at String Lake

String Lake is the place to be these days. SUP boarding is all the rage right now so go pick one up at Dornan's Adventure Sports and head over to this shallow and frigid lake to soak up some views and sun.

Hike Hanging Canyon

If you're fit enough, and can figure out how to get there, go to Hanging Canyon and hike 3K vert in 1/5 miles to Lake of the Crags (its a local secret).

After a long day in the Park, swing by Dornan's for a beer. A Jackson Hole classic and the best views in the valley.

Day Trip at a Dude Ranch

Turpin Meadow Ranch is a luxury dude ranch offering fly fishing, horseback riding, and several miles of hiking and mountain biking trails to make your day trip an adventure.

In Town

Stay at Hotel Jackson.

Hotel Jackson is the newest boutique luxury hotel in Jackson Hole - one block from the world-renowned Jackson Town Square.

Grab Breakfast at Persephone Bakery

Persephone Bakery carries classic artisanal breads as well as a spectrum of sweets, from French croissants and kouing aman to cupcakes and tarts. Try the bread pudding french toast, or their famous Graham Cookies (smores to go!) they won't disappoint.

Bring the South to Your Mouth

Cafe Genevieve will lure you in with its cozy, welcoming ambiance and in the summer, the outdoor dining is fantastic. BONUS: Jackson's favorite bluegrass band PTO plays Wednesday evenings at Cafe Genevieve ALL summer long.

Taste Unexpectedly Good Wine

Taste wine with Jackson Hole Winery! These wines are produced and cellared at 6,229 feet above sea level on Spring Creek at the base of the Grand Tetons. The cool mountain air preserves the wine's aromatics through a slow fermentation and aging process, allowing the wine to develop its distinctive personality.

Drink Exceptional Beer

Get delicious wood fired pizzas, pasta, burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads and desserts at Snake River Brewery! Happy hour from 4-6 with the freshest beer in the valley, direct from the source.

Hike Josie's Ridge

A local favorite, this steep hike takes you up to a junction where you can top out on top of Snow King mountain. Take the trail back either the way you came or hike down to Sink or Swim to loop back to the trailhead.

Rejuvenate at Healthy Being

Featuring nutrient dense and delicious 100% cold pressed juice, Healthy Being also specializes in gourmet vegan and raw cuisine, healing elixirs and nut milks handcrafted daily.

Shop at MADE

MADE is a local hotspot gift-buying shop for locals and visitors. It's filled with handmade usable items from over 160 artists from across Wyoming and the U.S.

Shop at Stio

Adventure seekers beware - you'll find all your outdoor-wear needs here!

Eat at Couloir

Couloir is located in Rendezvous Lodge at the summit of Bridger Gondola at 9095 feet. They serve a seasonal prix-fixe dinner menu, featuring American cuisine with Rocky Mountain roots.
