Opulent Wedding Inspiration from Vienna

Opulent Wedding Inspiration from Vienna

via

We often feature wedding inspiration shoots, real weddings, and engagement sessions. But it's very rare that we get to share something that's all three!

Austrian couple, Verena and Hannes, were so excited about their 2016 wedding, that they decided to do a test run. Working with some of the top wedding vendors in Vienna, they created a luxe inspiration shoot, to try out the bold, opulent looks they wanted for their wedding day.

We've heard of brides doubling up their engagement shoots with their hair and make-up trials to see how the look photographs, but this takes it to a whole new level!

And it was all photographed by the wonderful Claudia and Ingo of Ladies & Lord.

Rich tones, elegant style, decadent details, and the most refined setting, this gorgeous couple certainly appreciate the finer things in life, and if they pull out all the stops for their pre-wedding shoot, we can't wait to see their real big day!

We've got lots of details on this opulent wedding inspiration from the bride, Verena and florist, Div Art Flowers, below, but first up, we'll pass you over to Claudia of Ladies and Lord to share a little more about it...

From The Photographer

As photographers, we love the occasional styled shoot but when you actually get a bride and groom asking for a photo shoot to test certain styles and themes for their big day it is quite something. Their little love project took a lot of planning and we really put the same amount of love and energy into this shoot as it were the real deal. They were after the luxurious Imperial Vienna ballroom style and didn't spare any expenses. I was most excited about finally doing a wedding with a different colour palette. Verena & Hannes chose bold colours and I think we pulled it off. Gold and black are definitely not your usual peach and cream; mix it with red, you got yourself a dramatic look. I loved it. I hope they will be as bold and adventurous next year. All the participating vendors are some of the finest in the country - it was truly a luxurious affair and you rarely get all in one place. So for me personally, it meant quite a lot. It's always exciting working with the crème de la crème.

From The Florist

Vienna florist, Div Art Flowers explains a little about the beautiful blooms featured in this shoot...

For me it was a very special project since I finally got the chance to do something a bit out of the ordinary. I work with pastels most of my time and when I get to experiment with bold, dark colours, which I find very beautiful, it is exciting and fresh. I used Eucalyptus has a lovely shade and I used it as foliage. For the dramatic touch I sprayed some of the salal gold. burgundy wine ranunculus with anemonas, David Austin Darcey roses and pinky purple mini carnations. For a bit of structure, shape and proportion I mixed different types of tulips: mauve double tulips, purple French tulips and deep red fringed tulips. When Hannes and I first met, we both immediately fell for each other and we've fallen more into love each day ever since. We both adore the extraordinary and when we got engaged in October 2014, it was clear to both of us that we wanted our wedding to be as extravagant and glamorous yet as personal as possible - representing and incorporating the things we love the most and trying out a more dramatic style. We scheduled our wedding for 2016, but since we both felt so thrilled with the multitude of wedding inspirations available and having had put already so much effort and attention to lots of beautiful details like colours, flowers and of course choosing my wedding dress; we decided to do a test-run for our actual wedding with a styled photo shoot. I mean, black as a feature wedding colour is pretty unusual and we wanted to see first-hand what it looks and feels like for us. We certainly cut no corners and the result was a magical day that we could not have imagined any better - and a perfect preparation for our actual wedding next year. When it came to choosing my wedding dress, I envisioned myself in a fusion of pretty simplicity and elegant design. I adored the gorgeous and the stunning headpiece. With its history, comfort and discreet luxury, the eye-catching Rolls Royce was a perfect match for the style and theme we chose and Hannes was very excited about taking it for a short spin. It offered us lots of space inside, without wrinkling my wedding gown, and riding it we truly had a blast. It made everything feel so real! As a venue we chose the enchanting 300-year old Baroque Schönburg Palace, which lies in the heart of Vienna and is surrounded by a gorgeous private garden. With its history, the high ceilings, the exceptional old-style interior and the luxurious touch it was clearly the best venue we could have chosen - particularly for the dramatic setting we had in mind. We went for gorgeously arranged florals and a fitting bridal bouquet, unique champagne flutes out of 120-year old glass and exquisite dishware, along with a fancy candy table and an amazing wedding cake - everything kept in exclusive golden and dark tones, accompanied by deep purple, plum and berry shades. For us, this day was absolutely packed with wonders, love and fun. Seeing the results and our feelings for each other being captured in this exceptional setting, we certainly cannot wait for our actual wedding next year, when we get to share this overwhelming magic and gorgeous style with our loved ones and actually get to say yes to each other! I guess every girl dreams of being a princess for a day, right? Shopping for the real deal will be so much fun. I know it already. Just to make sure that our extravagant ideas would play out as expected. Be inspired by more Styled Shoots + Real Weddings.

From The Bride

So extravagant, and so gorgeous! I just love the burgundy tones with the black and white dessert table - it's such a uniquely rich palette. So tell us, would you test out your wedding style with a shoot before the big day?

Thanks so much to Ladies & Lord, and of course Verena and Hannes for sharing their stunning wedding inspiration with us.
