An Italian Farm Engagement Session | Fly Away Bride

An Italian Farm Engagement Session | Fly Away Bride

Well, today we are sharing probably the most unique engagement session ever featured on Fly Away Bride and it is definitely one for the animal lovers out there. During a planning trip to Puglia where their destination wedding is taking place next summer, Cat and Eric took the opportunity to have their engagement session shot on a masseria farm with their wedding photographer, Francesco Gravina. Designer, Anna from In the Mood 4 Love had the idea of styling their session as a young couple, secretly in love and escaping to the countryside to be together. Sneaking around in barns and up tree tops, this is such a fun and playful engagement shoot. We can't wait to see their wedding next year.

Eric and I knew each other for years before we officially became an item. We hadn't seen each other for a few years then a chance encounter bumping into each other in a nightclub was the beginning of a rather long chase for Eric to take me off the market! We got engaged a couple of years later after Eric channelled his inner romantic streak and whisked me away to Barcelona a few weeks before Christmas last year to pop the question. His planned proposal didn't quite go to plan due to a number of external factors - mainly unexpected fog covering the church at the highest point of the city where he wanted to propose, followed by coachloads of tourists getting in the way of another romantic spot at Park Guell. But Eric finally dropping to one knee in our hotel room a few hours before we were due to fly home was the perfect way to round off the most amazing weekend - helped by the most beautiful engagement ring I've ever seen ending up on my left hand. We had always discussed how we loved the idea of getting married abroad - a UK wedding was never a thought that crossed our minds. We originally flitted between wanting to get married in Ibiza or Italy... then after weeks of browsing wedding blogs I noticed that a few of the weddings I loved the most were styled by the same wedding planner, Anna from In The Mood 4 Love. We checked out more of Anna's weddings and loved how by just looking at a few photos of each wedding or watching a video of the event, you could tell a lot about the personality of each couple without having ever met them. We knew we never wanted a traditional big white wedding and something that reflected our more relaxed and fun loving personalities so we got in touch with Anna to find out more about her and the weddings she had planned in her hometown of Puglia. Neither of us had ever been to Puglia but we both love travelling and loved the idea of getting married somewhere totally unique where most of our guests have probably never even heard of, let alone visited. Upon visiting Puglia last month we loved how beautiful the towns and countryside were, as well as a number of great beaches being within easy reach meaning our guests will all be able to enjoy a great holiday when they visit for the wedding. Partnered with finding a perfect venue for us to get married in next summer, it was a very successful trip!'
