Nope. It's not gin and tonics for us this morning but rather the delicious wedding of Georgie and Tim which is equally as refreshing and will make you just as giddy as if you'd consumed ten of the aforementioned beverages.

This morning's wedding is a corker and I'm more than a little bit smug to be sharing it with you. If you're a sucker for a bespoke cocktail bar then this one is for you. If you love romantic veils and beautiful couture wedding gowns then I can say hand on heart you'll lust after this. And if you go weak at the knees over elegant bridesmaids in uber chic hot pink skirt and top combos then you better go and get yourself a chair.

And I haven't even mentioned the awesome stationery or the chocolate and strawberry tiered cake or the bird emblazoned table plan nor the blossom at each guest's table setting.

I'm telling you folks this big day is going to be pinned to within an INCH of its life.

Georgie The Bride: After a few visits to boutiques I decided that I wanted to have a hand in the design of my wedding dress. I hadn't really loved anything that I had tried on, and felt that I really had to love the dress to justify the cost. I found Jenny Lessin online. Initially I had so many ideas but Jenny was very patient, listened to what I wanted and helped me to narrow down all of these thoughts into something so beautiful, but also very comfortable.

I wanted a lot! - comfort, glamour, luxe fabrics, but I also wanted to stay true to my personal style. This turned into a two piece outfit (so I can wear the top again); a box pleated duchess satin skirt with a small puddle train... and pockets, and a top made of guipure lace with a scoop back. I really cant describe how wonderful it felt wearing that dress on that day. I loved it and I cant wait to wear the top again so I can feel that 'wonderful' feeling all over again! I was in the 'it's the only day you get to wear a veil, so let's go big' camp, so jenny created an (almost) cathedral length veil, which featured the same lace flowers as were on the top of the dress.

My shoes were from Boden. I didn't want to spend big money on new shoes for the wedding but I wanted something fun and, like the top, something that I could wear again. They were silver and gold which was a bit of fun under quite a demure dress.

My earrings were my something old - pearl studs which Tim had bought for me some years before. The opal ring I wore was borrowed from my Mum. To complete the set I decided that my dress was to be my something new, to use a handkerchief that belonged to my Nanny as my something blue, and my god-mother gave me a sixpence for my shoe.

Tim was especially keen to wear tails at the wedding. We chose a traditional navy tailcoat with pin striped trousers and a double breasted grey waistcoat all from Youngs suit hire. Each of the men in the wedding party wore this with a navy spotted tie. Tim's shoes were from Hugo Boss, the shirt is from Pink and the cufflinks were Paul Smith.

The venue was really an easy choice. Our priorities were to be married in church, to accommodate the wedding party on site and to have great food. Using Matara ticked all of these boxes but also provided much more. The house was big enough that we were able to accommodate the wedding party in the dining room for a post- rehearsal, pre- wedding day supper the night before. We also used the house and grounds for the drinks reception, wandering through the garden into main centre for speeches, dinner and dancing.

The inspiration for the colour scheme was the blossom trees which are at the entrance to the venue. The mix of whites and pinks meant that we didn't feel we had to choose a colour theme for the wedding but could use lots of different shades.

The stationery was one element which we felt was very important. We wanted something original and went with Blue Spat because we had seen previous work that they'd done and thought that they would be able to create something that suited the wedding and that suited us.

The final design featured a watercolour/ ombre fade and was accented with a series of different watercolour-esque flowers. These elements were carried through all of the stationery that they created - the invite, RSVP, menu, Order of Service and a website to keep our guests in the loop with the wedding plans. Their work really speaks for itself as we got so many compliments, especially on the invites and the website. Each piece was printed by ASAP who also gave us a great service. Everything was folded, assembled and packaged so carefully and it all arrived with time to spare.

We had looked high and low for a florist and finally came across Lily through a stroke of luck (that's another story). I can whole-heartedly endorse the service we got from Lily. The arrangements on the day were gorgeous, she is incredibly knowledgeable and worked so hard to make our flower dreams come to life! The quality and freshness of the flowers was also really amazing as they lasted a good few weeks after the wedding... oh and the fragrance was amazing. We really can't recommend her enough.

I was keen that the bridesmaids' outfits echoed my dress in some way, but also that the outfit was fun. The skirts from Coast seemed to fit the bill and is something that we hope they will be able to wear again (or that I can borrow). The tops were from La Redoute. They were simple silk with a beaded neckline but went beautifully with the skirts and matched in with the nude shoes that they wore. The four boys, our gorgeous nephews, all wore suits from next.

Jess Nurse did the hair and make up. She was recommended to me by a friend and was brilliant. She was very cool and calm, all the while making each of us look like the very best version of ourselves.

There were so many special moments in the ceremony which was conducted by our friend, who is a vicar. The church where we got married, St John the Baptist in Kingscote, kindly allowed us to bring in our own vicar and it made the ceremony all the more special. As well as a hilarious and yet very thoughtful address by the vicar we had three readings during the ceremony, each wonderfully delivered by some of our dearest friends and family. These were 'A lovely love story' by Edward Monkton, 'Marriage joins two people in the circle of its love' by Edmund O'Neill and 'Union' by Robert Fulghum.

In the evening we had live music from the Motown Sensations. The band were amazing. They sung the 1st dance for us and then kicked it up a notch with covers of Motown classics. Not only were they and the sound technician fantastic on the night but the service we received from 'bands for hire' in the run up was also really professional. I was quite dubious about booking a band without a recommendation but in fact the whole package was great.

We also had a Gin and Tonic bar in the evening- our initials are G+T so this seemed very apt. We came up with 4 different cocktails which were set out for guests to mix up themselves. Before the wedding we sent the recipes to Fran from FSepede Designs who, in pencil and watercolour created a beautiful artists impression of each of cocktails along with the recipe. We had the artwork scaled down and printed onto postcards (again by ASAP) for guests to take away as a memento. Our guests really loved the postcards and the cocktails which, so we hear, have been recreated since the wedding!!

We had a champagne reception following the service with lots of lovely canapés made by Rene, the chef at Matara. Various different bites went around, but the pea and mint soup was a real winner. Following that we went through for dinner starting, rather than ending with the speeches. Bread from Hobbs House (home of The Fabulous Baker Brothers) was served with flavoured butter while the speeches got underway. Following that, dinner was served. We chose Fillet Steak with sticky shallots. It was served with a red wine sauce, vegetables and potato dauphinouse.

The pudding was a poached plum crème brulee with a pistachio biscuit. Our cake was made by my lovely mum with help from my sister who did the icing. One layer was coffee and caramel and the other two were chocolate all covered in Swiss buttercream with dark chocolate drips (not as easy as it looks) around the edge. It was a real labour of love to get the cake exactly as we wanted it but it looked fantastic and it tasted great, especially with all the chocolate dipped fruit on top!

The cake was sent out for people to snack on during the evening. At regular intervals we also sent around chorizo burgers (Tim's favourite) and mini tubs of haagen daaz ice cream which went down a storm in between all the dance floor action.

M+J were brilliant. I read a review from another couple who said it was the best decision of their wedding to book M+J. We can't disagree. Morgane and Jonny have been a delight to work with; professional, discrete and I can't tell you how happy we are with the pictures - they have managed to capture some truly special moments in the most beautiful way. What more could you ask for?
