Nothing is more South African then a good old traditional bush wedding. Martinus and Daleen recently got married at the beautiful Askari Game Lodge just outside of Pretoria. A venue known for its elephant hotspot. The couple currently live in Australia, but still had their special day in SA, their home land. Daleen looked impeccable and she captured extremely well on camera. The stunning and ever talented Stella Uys photographed the wedding and as expected, she did a tremendous job. I Propose | Elaborate on how the two of you met.

We were introduced to each other through a mutual friend whom invited me to join her with some of her work mates one Friday afternoon at a popular watering hole in Melville. As soon as I arrived and sat down, Martinus had made his way to our table, introduced himself and sat down next to me. We immediately hada connection with each other. After we enjoyed a few cocktails together, Martinus and his friends kicked on to the next place and I ended up giving my friend a lift home. The following Monday Martinus persisted in asking my friend for my number. Two weeks later we went on our first official date.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down.

We currently live in Australia and Martinus' work requires him to travel often. With the few weekends he is at home which we share together we always try and make it special for each other. During April two years ago Martinus was scheduled to be home for some time and we decided to spoil ourselves with a four night spur of the moment trip to Fiji. On our last day while we were relaxing on our patio watching the sunset over the islands and a fisherman throwing some breadcrumbs from the boardwalk feeding some fish, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day.

Our most memorable moment was while we were on our couple shoot after the ceremony. We were on our way to a picnic spot under a huge thorn bush tree when we arrived five rhinos including a rhino calf was under the tree to greet us. We had spent the previous day looking for them to no avail and seeing them after we had validated our love was an amazing sight and made the moment unforgettable.
