From Sarah: "This woodland bridal session was inspired by two things. 1. My love for rustic woodland themes, and 2. My obsession for Elven beings (as created by J.R.R. Tolkien), Yep that's right. I am a Tolkien fanatic, especially all things Elven! The core of my inspiration was the idea of "deep roots." It comes from this section of Tolkien's poem, "The Riddle of Strider," which I feel strongly translates to everlasting love:
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost." I wanted to embrace the soft, romantic, and elegant aspects of the Elven culture without being corny. For this session, we headed into the mountains and let the beauty of our surroundings guide us, through woodland groves and rocky outcrops above the forest. My hope is that brides stay true to themselves, whether they are eloping in the woods, or having a huge wedding at an event center. You can still incorporate something very meaningful to you, even if your inspiration starts from a non-traditional or "nerdy" place!"
