Woodland Wonderland Wedding Ideas | Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

When these images landed in my inbox I was super excited. It's everything I think I would dream of for my wedding day.

Super stunning styling set in the beautiful woodland; dramatic looks, atmospheric lighting and delicious florals. The team behind this shoot did one amazing job of collaborating their ideas. I think you are going to get so much inspiration from these gorgeous photographs by Jessica Withey Photography. Jess tells us more;

"Let's get lost in Wonderland.............now doesn't that sound appealing. Read on to escape from the reality of routine and into the quirky world of a group of talented wedding creatives from South Wales and Hereford.On a grey and damp April morning, still suffering the after effects of the Easter chocolate gluttony, our little band of models, stylist, floral designer, photographer, videographer, invaluable assistants and super-cute rabbit set off in a convoy of battered vehicles. The destination was a dark and dreamy forest in the heart of the gorgeous Hereford countryside. The sky was steely grey and the surrounding fields were glowing yellow with rape seed.We parked up and the job of unloading a salvage yard full of props began. A long muddy pathway led from the road to the heart of the forest. At this point footwear choices were being seriously questioned. We trudged all the props and furniture through the mud and the task of setting the stage began.Props were styled, Oscar the rabbit was adored and a makeshift flower workshop was set up on a park bench in the car park!Then the magic really started with the gorgeous models doing their beautiful thing whilst I was capturing all the tiny details the others were too busy to notice.The shoot came about after I attended an Alice in Wonderland inspired fashion show at the beginning of this year. Whilst I was inspired by this, I wanted to do something a little, darker. More... curious. I started gathering some of my talented friends in the wedding business and the more we dreamed the more people came on board!We wanted to take inspiration from Alice but not get too precious about 'the theme'. We knew Alice had been done before, but not like this.If you're looking to make your own wedding a vintage, quirky and memorable event our advice would be to take your inspiration , and don't get caught there. Twist it to suit your style, change it up! Don't make your wedding an exact copy of something you saw on Pinterest - make it unquestionably yours! That's how you take a wedding from being good, to irresistible.Ever thought about visiting car boot sales, reclamation yards and the treasure troves that are charity shops? You can find some seriously cool things, and they're often perfect for centerpieces, and quirky displays. Adding flowers to some of your items can really make them become a statement piece. It's often the details that people remember - get people talking at their table before food is served about the quirky centerpiece!Another piece of advice... if I may indulge as a photographer myself : select your photographers carefully and NEVER EVER just settle for having a friend capture the day on the cheap. At the end of it all, your photos are the only thing that will still exist once the day is over! Don't re-live a horrible decision to have your friends iphone photos of your day, relive it in all its beauty!Most importantly though, enjoy the planning process! Enjoy being you, and see where it takes you!
