Mariola and Hector were married at Castell de l' Empordà in the Girona area of Spain an hour and a half north of Barcelona in the northeast corner of the country. The venue is a traditional style castle featuring many modern architectural elements, and Mariola and Hector knew they found the perfect place to celebrate their wedding the moment they set eyes on it. Their ceremony was held in a traditional olive grove on the grounds, in true Mediterranean style. The day was captured by Alberto Ballbé, and Anna from Sophie Kors Weddings shares some of the wedding details with us below.

"Wicker baskets full of flowers and were placed near the olive trees, with ceramic clay pots that marking the hallway and straw bales for the bride and groom seats. The bride arrived to the olive grove for the ceremony in her father's vintage car. Following the ceremony, the guests had appetizers in a clearing with stunning views of the Empordà landscape. The bride DIY'd their table plan which was hung on the branches of the pink bougainvillea in beautiful Mediterranean style. Tree bark centerpieces were used for the tables which were dotted with glass jars decorated with ribbons and wildflowers. The couple chose heart shaped cacti as unusual guest favors, and used corks as guest place names. All the stationery was prettily matched in the same style and font. As a surprise for the guests, tables and wrought iron chairs with hundreds of candles were assembled around the dance floor. A crepes caravan was parked nearby- an alternative late night snack, but after all who can resist a caramel or chocolate crepe after a night of dancing? As for us, we really enjoyed working with this fun loving, beautiful couple and sharing their day with them!"
