Two brides and a pair of wedding ducks

Two brides and a pair of wedding ducks

Ahem - that's Korean wedding ducks, not live ones, in case you were curious. Angela's family is Korean, and she and Heather chose to include a particularly gorgeous pair of these wooden ducks in their Maryland wedding last September. The ornaments are a traditional element of Korean weddings, symbolizing peace, good fortune, and family strength.

Sticking to that theme of family and community, Angela and Heather asked all of their guests to sign their Quaker-style wedding certificate. No, really, even the kids signed it: "It was the most kid-friendly wedding we have ever been to," said photographer Tara Bannerji. Add to that the rustic setting of Seneca Creek State Park, the overcast look after a night of heavy rain, and peace-evoking details like origami cranes and the wedding ducks, and the result is a day that pretty much radiates calm and ease. Plus, how cute are these two in their matching sleeveless shifts?
