You're probably well aware by now that every single member of the Rock My Wedding team is a sucker for a pretty French wedding at a picturesque Chateau and Lucy and Tim's big day is no exception.

There are rolling fields, handpicked bouquets, milk churns filled to bursting with blooms, walks in dappled glades, dinner in a French courtyard, a bevy of beautiful maids and kick ass dancing on Moroccan rugs in the moonlight.

Oh and then there's Tim's emotional reaction when he sees the beautiful Lucy walking down the aisle towards him. Honestly it is the BEST.

Let's have a look then...

Lucy The Bride: Tim and I have always been drawn to a life more simple. We travelled in our early days and in a fitting manner we got engaged on a trip to Barcelona in 2012. We quickly decided to get married in France. Our venue checklist was: Hot? Good wine? Amazing food? Rustic setting? We found Chateau de Lartigolle on the internet and knew instantly that it was the place for us. It was in a place we had never seen and was not the easiest place to get to. A perfect adventure!

The Chateau wedding basically planned itself. We never planned on a colour scheme exactly but the Chateau had hints of lavender about the grounds so we felt that we should stick to the natural beauty. We tried to do lots of the planning ourselves and had so much fun thinking up new little bits we could make. We printed our Save the Dates on floral handkerchiefs designed by my extremely talented friend Lizzie Cullen. Lizzie also designed our invites, table plan and guest finger print tree.

My mum helped so much by making enough bunting to kit out a school fete. We did worry about how to get it all over to France but we were having so much fun making everything that we just dealt with it nearer to the time! We made all sorts of personalized stationery on the day by buying a stamp from Little Posy Print Company. So many of our ideas were found on Rock My Wedding that we collected running up to the big day.

As a teacher I couldn't resist making a little workbook for the kids with our logo on it. We tied in the lilac / lavender with some retro straws served in a lavender lemonade when the guests arrived.

I bought my dress from the best little shop in the whole wide world, also known as Love Bridal Boutique in Bowden. Emma made the first few months of our engagement so much fun and dreamy. I chose a dress that I never thought I would have gone for but as soon as I tried it on I thought 'Yep. Big it is then'.

I choose a cathedral length veil which matched the lace on my dress perfectly. Throughout the process of getting my dress I couldn't quite picture myself in France getting married, it all felt so surreal. Only on the last fitting, three weeks before the day, I freaked out and asked for loads of the underskirt to be cut out!

I wanted my beautiful bridesmaids to each be as unique and fabulous as they normally are so I went for different styles and different variations of cream / ivory / nude. We ranged from high street to modified night gowns. And just as I had thought, they looked incredible! My wonderful MoH is a stylist and created her stunning dress from an M&S nightie and silk dressing gown.

The groom bought his suit from Reiss and wanted the groomsmen to just wear trousers and a shirt instead of full suits as we knew it'd be hot. They looked amazing and true to style in their braces and mismatched ties.

The Chateau owners Emma, Chris and Nick are so amazing and left no detail unplanned. They took charge of the flowers and called in their local suppliers in Auch. We went for simple and as wild as we could get for that time in season. I'd seen a waterfall bouquet before and fell in love and Emma did it perfectly for me.

We were referred to Celebrants in France for our ceremony and we wrote the vows ourselves. We wanted to keep everything really personal so our friends played music and used my mum's bunting to decorate the field overlooking the sunflower field. It was more magical than I could have thought.

We decided to have our reception set out the traditional French way, so got rid of the top table and we sat in rows. It was so lovely as we were right in amongst all our friends and family. We had really fresh, French food and had an Eton Mess for dessert!

The Chateau recommended Matthew for photography and our only requirement was to capture the love and fun. My cousin Charlie also took some stunning photos as did Tim's brother Mark. We were so lucky to have so many amazing photographers on hand!

Entertainment was such a huge part for us and we spent hours and hours choosing each and every song that was going to be played. Tim is in a band and music is his life so it was only fitting that is was planned down to the tee.

Lots of our friends are also musicians so we had live acoustic music in the reception and Tim sung after his speech...you can see him play here.

We also arranged for Silent Noize - a silent disco to carry on the party after midnight, where everyone went down to the cellar for a shot of Limoncello and dancing. Our friends drove the HUGE equipment from London to France with them on their two day journey to the wedding!! For me it was the best part of the wedding as it was a surprise for everyone and so many people had not tried it before. It was hilarious! Our friend was the DJ and made it such a good party.
