Retro Hawaiian Wedding Decor

Retro Hawaiian Wedding Decor

I am a sucker for a retro Hawaiian-themed event. Blame it on my third-grade obsession with all things Gidget and Beach Blanket Bingo, but kitschy tiki is just the funnest party ever in my book. Here is a collection of retro beach decor that doesn't stray too far into "tourist cheesy" territory (it is your wedding after all).

I can't choose between these two invites. One has all the movie star glam of Frankie and Annette, while the other puts the most important Hawaiian wedding accessory, the mai tai, front and center.

I think plumeria is such a happy flower, and it screams traditional Hawaii. No matter what color you choose, this bouquet is going to smell just like the Island.

And no retro beach wedding would be complete without lighting by tiki torch. Whether you are on a beach, or just wish you were, tiki torches will help set the mood!

Of course, you gotta have surfboards. Decorate in prints of wooden surfboards, or turn it modern by featuring your wedding program on a chalkboard-style board.

Your groom will look pretty dashing in a button-up, lei, and tropical boutonniere.

This tiki wedding cake is retro perfection, right?! Even if you can's have a cake this extravagant, you can still incorporate details like hula girls, grass-skirted tables, pineapples, and fun bar signage.
