Los Angeles Warehouse Wedding: Stephanie + Scott

Los Angeles Warehouse Wedding: Stephanie + Scott

via

Stephanie + Scott wanted their incredible LA warehouse wedding to be a stylish + fun blend of their two very different cultures (Scott is from New Zealand + Stephanie is American and half Korean) and also represent their creative backgrounds as artists. And as you’ll soon see, they did a phenomenal job creating a gorgeous + meaningful day! I’m pretty obsessed with their clean + modern color palette of ivory + gold, with subtle pops of green brought in through the pretty floral design. And you won’t want to miss the super rad photo booth backdrop handmade by the groom, or the gorgeous installation of gold-dipped paper lanterns decorating the reception space. So much beauty to be inspired by!

From the bride, We really tried to incorporate elements of the two of us. Scott’s a graphic designer/illustrator and I’m a fashion designer. Scott illustrated elements throughout including the signage, photo booth, match-boxes, napkins, invites, etc. I grew up with flowers always around, my mother was a florist. I also wanted to have a lot of fabric around, inspired by my love for fashion. I draped fabric over the altar + used it to divide sections of the venue. By including these personal touches, we were able to represent who we are individually as well as us as a team.

Thanks so much to Bayly and Moore for the stunning photography and congratulations to Stephanie + Scott!

Stephanie’s copper Jeffery Campbell shoes are so incredibly awesome!

And love that the boys made a pre-ceremony stop at Handsome Coffee Roasters! :)

Their venue was located in LA’s arts district so there were plenty of killer backdrops for photos!

Here’s a peek at the gorgeous cluster of lanterns!

And, of course, I’m majorly in love with this amazing, layered fabric ceremony backdrop, created by Stephanie as a nod to her background in fashion. It looks so great against the venue’s old brick walls…

Processional: Ends of the Earth – Lord Huron

Recessional: I'll Be Your Man – Black Keys

First Dance: I Found You – Alabama Shakes

We placed small gold sheep at every table setting to tie in Scott’s New Zealand (Kiwi) roots. Not only was it cool for the local guests, but a nice tie in of home for the Kiwi visitors. We really wanted to incorporate all the cultures. And the food helped resemble Southern California like Mini Tacos + New Zealand — Lamb sliders!

Stephanie: We snuck out of the reception in the middle of the night with Sophia, and took some couple photos of just Scott and I. It was a great pause in the night and perfect to have time to ourselves and soak it all in. These are probably my favorite photos of the wedding too!

Scott: My favorite moment was during our first dance. At the same moment that I was able to share a slow-dance with Stef, I was looking around at all the people we care about. I was so overwhelmed with love and support, wondering what I'd done to deserve such a beautiful wife and such wonderful friends and family.

Try to add your own personal touches. Make sure you have a timeline of things to do and enough hands to get things done before the big day. We had a tight budget, but we found ways to get around it – i.e. making our own napkins & ties, making sure to shop around, and thrifting for table elements. Your wedding is the time to ask your friends and family for a favor, too. That's what they're there for and it's a form of support they're more than happy to give!
