Today’s wedding from Lisa Dawn is just magical. As the bride says, they were inspired by “a midsummer’s dream garden party with lots of lanterns, laughter and cocktails!”

I always ask couples why they chose their wedding venues, though when I saw these photos of Natasha and Jonathan’s beautiful celebration, it was pretty obvious why they chose Larmer Tree Gardens: “We wanted something a bit different and the Larmer Tree Gardens really captivated us and provided the perfect location – it is such a stunning garden with colonial buildings, a Victoria amphitheater stage and peacocks wandering around. We both knew that we wanted a traditional church wedding and the little quintessentially English village church in Tollard Royal was perfect. The village and gardens are near to where Natasha grew up so it was all greatly located.”

The historic reception venue boasts a gorgeous amphitheater and temple. Talk about great photo backdrops!

Natasha’s bouquet was mostly green with touches of white and cream. It included hydrangea and roses.

The couple snuck away to take some lovely photos in the The Singing Theatre.

“For our wedding favors we had floating lotus flowers with little candles for everyone to place on the pond at dusk and make a wish. We also had candles in jam jars lining the paths and lanterns strung in the trees.”

What was your favorite moment or part of the day?  Playing croquet on the lawn at the reception together, with a clear blue sky overhead, beautiful music filling the air and the sound of all our friends chatting and laughing with a drink in hand. It was such a fun and relaxed atmosphere and everyone we loved was there to enjoy it with us.

Did you include any traditions in your wedding?  We were married in a church and had a fairly traditional ceremony conducted by the very charismatic Reverend Robert Prance. We arrived to the sound of the church bells being rung and the bride’s father walked Natasha down the aisle and gave her away.

What advice do you have for other brides?  Enjoy every moment of the day as it will fly past in a heartbeat and don’t get upset if something doesn’t turn out how your originally hoped. We had floating paper lanterns on the dell at sunset and I had a very clear image of how it would look – I hadn’t factored in the wind and it didn’t go exactly to plan, but it still looked great and everyone had a laugh about it.

Is there anything else that helps tell the story of the day?  While the bride, bridesmaid and mother of the bride where getting ready in the morning, the groom went clay pigeon shooting with his father, the father of the bride, best man, bride’s brother plus a few others at Crichel Clay Shoot. Several of the group hadn’t shot before but the instructors were patient and everyone had a great time.
