Photographer Carlo Perazzolo said that he met Sarah and Santi just as they jumped on a gondola to get married. The Spanish couple opted for a civil ceremony with no guests on the canals of Venice last May. Perazzolo followed them around to document the rest of the day.

"Romance with a touch of edginess" is how the event designer behind today's shoot describes her vision, and to say mission accomplished is a true understatement. Ashley Kelemen, Belle Destination Weddings & Events, and Sweet Marie Designs took a color palette of slate grey, deep reds, and light pinks and built a modern weddingscape around it, and we can't help but fall head over heels in love with the result.

Stephi and Martyn flew to Italy last May for their beautiful and intimate ceremony in Venice. Their wedding party consisted of 40 guests who attended the couple's ceremony at Palazzo Cavalli, the Venice town hall, before heading through the city to the stunning Ca' Zenobio, a 15th century palace in the Dorsoduro area of Venice, for the reception.

Jacquetta and Elliot created one visually exciting Venice wedding with a cool masquerade theme that we just can't get over. Besides the fact that the nuptials took place at the Hotel Cipriani (the same place where George and Amal Clooney tied the knot), there are so many more special things to see here.

Jasmine & Thibault travelled from their hometown of Bordeaux in France to marry in one of the most romantic cities in the world, Venice. They wanted something out of the ordinary, and this is exactly what they got. Their celebration in a Venetian palazzo was intimate, decadent and darkly glamourous.

I love Venice. Ever since visiting as a college art student way back in 1990-something this water-y city stole my heart and ignited my apprecation for beautiful photography (back then I was behind the camera but now I prefer to curate others' images right here!)

Diana and Manuel took a gondola tour of the Grand Canal in Venice at their lovely Italian elopement. They made stops at the piazza for photos and, of course, their intimate sunset ceremony alongside the canal, serenaded by a soprano. Passersby couldn't stop staring (as you'll see!)

I'm pretty sure taking engagement photos in Los Angeles without visiting the beach would be a crime-we definitely did not want to miss the opportunity to walk along the shore and the pier with our paparazzo in tow. I think you can tell that we had loosened up a bit by this point in the day.

With a trip to Spain and Italy already booked, Alexandra and Christian couldn't resist the idea of eloping in one of the most romantic places on earth - Venice, Italy. When they discovered that it would be both Valentine's day and Carnival when they arrived, it sealed the deal for the romantic couple.

Once we had our amazing and talented photographer, we started to talk about engagement photos. We love living in Boston-it was the place we met and where we fell in love. We currently live in Boston, so it's certainly the most convenient option.
