Festival Brides Love: Alternative Custom Portraits

Festival Brides Love: Alternative Custom Portraits

Afternoon you guys!

So I'm totally in bits over the little gems I'm gonna be sharing with you today; we're talking quirky custom portraits, some of the best ways to use them for you wedding and some of our favourite artists right now!

Let's kick things off with these paper doll portraits... I mean! I'm totally enamoured, if anyone isn't sure what to get me for Christmas... Wink wink, nudge nudge!

Ahem! Anyway, these amazing little souls are the incredible work of Etsy shop owner, Jordan Grace Owens and aren't they just insane?! We LOVE.

Whether you purchase as a basis for you invite design, as an amazing accessory to a dessert table or as an anniversary gift, y'all need a set in your lives!

The pets are just amazing, I'd love to see my fur babies as little paper dolls!

And for something a little more pastel in design, why not take a look at the oh-so-elegant designs of Little Paper Clouds, another little Etsy shop that we simply cannot get over! I absolutely adore the bride and maids set, wouldn't that make the sweetest memento for your best gals?! Seriously cute.

Little Paper Clouds also ingeniously sell sweet foliage based borders to complete your framed doll's look, if this isn't an amazing keepsake/seriously inspired wedding gift, I don't know what more you want from me! Ha!

Throwing a hen party / bridal shower any time soon? Fancy giving your guests a little favour to take home? Simply request a photo from each guest and have the party recreated... Totally unique and I mean, who wouldn't want a sweet paper version of themselves to frame? #gimmie

If your mind is in cake mode right now, (y'all should definitely compartmentalise, your zen will thank me!) then these super cute wooden dolls by Peg and Plum are just EVERYTHING. Custom made, hand painted and washable (post cake topping duties) you guys need to get pegged!

And the diamonds over at Goose Grease pair theirs with sweet miniature bunting in a deep frame as a ridiculously sweet keepsake.

Riiight?! They're just too much!

If you're looking for a more 2D portrait, the world really is your oyster, but Etsy is a pretty darn good place to start!

We stumbled across the gorgeous Hannah's Illustrations on Instagram originally, her Etsy shop is just a gallery of cuties, seriously! Again, these would make a simply divine wedding gift, or the sweetest of invitation graphic / thank you card design. LOVE.

We're also totally obsessed with the skills of Lady Noel Designs. These custom canvases have been appearing in my instagram feed via various awesome igers for months now.

Her style is totally unique and totally fabulous, sure to induce major stoke levels for the lucky newlyweds you commission one for.

Seriously, SUCH a rad style of portrait.

...And on that note, if y'all want something really out there, why not get an animal portrait done of yourselves or your soon-to-marry buddies? My beau and I met the lovely Alexia Tucker (and her super sweet pup, Luna) while browsing the shops of Hay-on-Wye (read more on our trip to Cosy Under Canvas here!). With the assistance of some photos and your help in getting to know the couple/family, Alexia creates and illustrates animal personas amazingly!

This would be one incredible wedding gift...

And finally, for those of you in the early throws of stationery planning, a custom portrait is one of the wedding world's hottest little numbers right now and these stationery concepts by Wide Eyes Paper Co are the bee all and freakin' end all!

I'm telling you, if I could do it all again, this mountain-themed set would be TOP on my agenda! I love that the couple are facing each other...

However you go about it, whether it's for yourselves, or to celebrate a wedding or anniversary, custom portraits are the cutest gift out there!

Peace + Love
