Timeless New York Wedding

The best way to describe Corinne & Justin's New York wedding? Classic with a glamorous romantic vibe. From the stylishly elegant bride and groom to the tasteful reception with timeless gold and white color palette, this is a day of non-stop sophistication, all captured perfectly by Laura Marie Duncan Photography. See every last detail below!

Four years after first meeting, Justin (an opera singer) proposed on the stage at Carnegie Hall (where I work on the administrative staff) one night before the music season started, when the hall was empty and quiet. I knew immediately we wanted our wedding to be a true celebration of love and music. We were married at St. Mark's Church in Mt. Kisco, NY, where Justin is on the music staff in singing with the church choir. With that, we asked the St. Mark's choir to perform at the wedding ceremony. Many attendees in advance of the wedding asked if Justin would also be singing. Assuming he wouldn't want to sing at the wedding ceremony, I suggested that he and I sing a short duet by Irving Berlin, "An Old Fashioned Wedding" as a surprise to the crowd at the reception. He agreed, however, he later surprised me singing "Stars" from Les Miz. We were thrilled Live Wire was able to accompany us on our duet and even spend time practicing with us.

We both fell in love with the Glen Island Harbour Club and the staff there. We had heard about the amazing food and views there and were not disappointed. Every step of the way, our catering manager was completely helpful, down to creating our signature cocktails and special request beer from Shiner, TX (Justin's home state!)

Inspired by the water surrounding Glen Island, I wanted the wedding colors to reflect that with a mixture of green and blue, highlighted by hues of gold. I searched high and low for my Stephen Yearick gown and found the perfect pleated skirt with the bubble hem and the beaded bodice, and was grateful for my sister who leant me the Reem Acra veil she wore only 10 years prior. Other special touches included a baby bonnet turned handkerchief to wrap around my bridal bouquet and wedding bells which were crocheted by a dear friend of the family.

In the end, we were just overwhelmed by the day, that was absolutely beautiful, down to the final detail filled with lots of music, laughter, and love.
