We all get in a makeup rut now and again. All of a sudden, we don't like how our favorite berry lip gloss looks and we need a change. Here are 5 makeup trends we have picked up on from awards season.

Matchy-Matchy Makeup Like Claire Danes (above) the big trend is matching your makeup to the color of your dress. I love how it looks with gray. Other stars tried the trend with brighter shades, such as bright green and blue.

Matte Lips From nude to bright orange, the big lip trend is all about less shine, so ditch the glossy lacquer to try this look (above, left).

Natural Skin This trend has less to do with makeup, and more to do with skin care, because the gals with the clear complexions can definitely have an easier time with this trend. Wear just a bit of concealer and tinted moisturizer to look fresh-scrubbed and fantastic!

Sheer Nails The shade isn't important, it can be anything from the barest greige to the brightest coral. The key is picking a sheer polish so that your nails shine through a bit. After several seasons of elaborate nail art trends, this is a welcome change!

White Eyeshadow Paired with a minimal amount of mascara, this trend can make quite a bare statement. Other dramatic eyeliners are still in vogue, but this is certainly the easiest one to try!
