Free-Spirited Boho Luxe Wedding Shoot in the English Countryside

Free-Spirited Boho Luxe Wedding Shoot in the English Countryside

3 reasons why I am in LOVE with today's boho luxe shoot.

Number 1 - The suppliers involved. Sophie and Luna, Rock The Frock, Otaduy, Sash + Veil, Beyond Vintage, Paola de Paola to name but a few. These are all artisan wedding suppliers that are each bringing something fresh to the wedding industry so to have them all working on a shoot together is making my heart sing.

Number 2 - The trends. Everything that is tipped to be big in the wedding world for 2017 is covered in this shoot such as the green colour palette, the botanical theme, the embroidered wedding jacket, 70's fringing and biscuits (yes we think biscuits are going to rival cakes over the next few years - just you wait and see!)

Number 3 - Painted ferns & botanical leaves. So simple yet so effective and something you can easily recreate for your wedding. In this shoot Sophie and Luna have used metallic gold and white to add a bit of luxe to the botanical leaves they have used for the ceremony area and the result just looks so good. It is a genius idea and cheap too!

Put together by Sophie and Luna Flowers and Sash + Veil, this shoot is....

about traditional artisan, bespoke wedding products but for the modern bride. A bride with a free spirit who doesn't care what people think about her wearing a leather jacket with a veil, who enjoys herself, the wedding day and who is celebrating love! The feeling is quite rock and roll/free spirit type, elegant and traditional for the ceremony and wild at heart after it.

It couldn't be more perfect for our festival pages could it? Sandra of Sophie and Luna talks us through the shoot....

The inspiration behind the day begun when we met at Chosen Wedding Fair and started to discuss planning a shoot to explore combining the themes of luxe with the bohemian free-spirited, inspiring couples to mix up the traditional with something modern, different and unique to them.

As the ideas flowed we gathered together a wonderful team of artisan wedding suppliers, to produce a fusion of bespoke wedding inspiration - luxe artisan traditional meets carefree boho.

The backdrop for the shoot was the stunning Northbrook Park located deep in the heart of the English countryside. Although the setting was wonderfully traditional with a luxurious light and airy ceremony room opening out onto expansive sloping lawns, there were also exotic peacocks wandering around providing a perfect backdrop for some quirky, non-traditional images.

Being springtime the palette was of greenery softened with muted peach and blossom pinks, creamy vanillas, mint greens accented with luxe gold and bright white.

We chose Paola De Paola Weddings as our photographer for her unique style. We just knew she would be able to perfectly create a stylish romantic yet dynamic and modern shoot and by capturing the traditional beauty of the venue but she would also bring into the photos her own interpretation and quirky detailing.

The table was set by Beyond Vintage, mixing modern with a touch of vintage. The clean lines of the modern cutlery and gold charge plate combined with the textured glassware and muted Pom Pom Blossom silks gave an elegant classic look to the table which we contrasted in the place settings finishing them with raffia hand-tied napkins. The stationery was inspired by the greenery theme softened by a watercolour leaf design, mixed with calligraphy and simple text and tied with hand-dyed silk ribbons. The sweet table, bespoke work by Ever After Cakes, was inspired by traditional roses and green foliage highlighted with gold leaf and accompanied by vanilla shortbread biscuit favours decorated with splashes of green and gold to reflect our palette and themes. Our bride chose to accompany these by handmade Emmy's brigadeiros, an unusual Brazilian hand-made sweet delicacy, a combination of chocolate and truffles to bring a quirky edge to this traditional table and to treat her guests to something a little different. They are yummy and new to most of us!

For our bride, Make Up in Orangeries captured a traditional but carefree look with loose tousled wavy hair and an organic palette of peachy pink and tan tones to the skin applied in transparent layers with soft washes to the eyes and simple glossed lips.

We decided to incorporate bridal separates into the shoot with a glamorous yet relaxed sequin camisole top paired with a tulle skirt from Rock The Frock to add femininity and a classic touch. The flexibility of using separate pieces means our bride can combine the pieces to create an outfit to fit her personality and style. We finished the look with a handmade Otaduy leather jacket, further emphasising the theme of tradition, with the addition of fringing details plus hand-embroidery.

For the accessories, in-keeping with our traditional mixed with boho theme we chose classic luxuriously Sash + Veil soft veils embellished using the natural beauty of Sophie and Luna's real preserved flowers, adding an extra dimension by layering the tulles to produce different shades which represented the tones and textures found in real flowers. These were complimented with handmande PS With Love jewellery pieces using elegant shapes but adding a modern twist by using copper and rose gold and soft blush pearls.

Our free-spirited bride while wanting to bring the traditional to her wedding day, also wants to embrace her boho spirit. She wants the details of her day to be bespoke and made by artisan suppliers, resulting in a delightfully eclectic contrast of the traditional and modern.
