Paul proposed to Erin one chilly February night while the two were stargazing on the beach. "It was there on the beach, in the dark under the most beautiful blanket of stars I have ever seen that he got down on one knee while I gazed up at the constellations," Erin explains. "When I looked down there he was, kneeling with a stunning ring in his hand. There was a 'yes' and many tears after that!"

The couple decided on a wedding with relaxed rustic vibes and handmade decorations to create an intimate feel. "Paul and I love and collect antiques so we knew creating a style based on that was the direction we wanted to head in. The vibe of our wedding was bohemian with a rustic flair," Erin says. A colour palette of pastels and neutrals created a soft, romantic feel, while charming details like buntings and paper flowers added personality.

The couple's wedding decor really was a labour of love. Erin and Paul put in hours of work to create the most beautiful set up for their backyard venue, and they both say it definitely paid off to see it all come together for their big day. "Standing in my bedroom looking out into the yard when we finally finished setting everything up was one of the best moments of the day. It was such an amazing feeling to see the exact picture I had in my head months earlier, displayed perfectly right below me," Erin says.

The day ended on a high note with a big bonfire complete with s'mores. "I had so much fun just sitting on the ground in my wedding dress around a bonfire, roasting marshmallows with a beer in hand, celebrating the most perfect day with all the people we love," Erin says.
