Shannen and Americo celebrated their wedding at the beautiful Avianto in Muldersdrift. The bride describes the day as a magical event where dreams came true, and looking at the photographs, we have to agree!

Lovebirds | How did you two meet?
Americo and I met at Rivers church where I was serving at the childrens church. I was only 15 and Americo was 18 and had just matriculated. We instantly became friends and it wasn't long before it blossomed into an amazing romance. We had been dating for 9 years before we got married.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?
In 2014, Americo and I went on a Greek Island Hopping Contiki tour. Whilst in Mykonos, we went for a walk up a hill. The view was spectacular, on the one side we could see right over Mykonos, and behind us stretched the Mediterranean sea as far as the eye could see. It was then that Americo got down on one knee, and pulled out the most beautiful ring I have ever seen and asked me to be his wife.

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
Our wedding day was perfect in every way and was filled with so many beautiful moments, which made it really hard to pick a moment that stood out for me. Personally, I remember standing at the altar after exchanging vows, looking at Americo and thinking:" Wow, this is my husband". Up until then I don't think I had ever been more proud or more in love with him.
