It may be winter, but actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum's makeup and hair at the 2012 VH1 Divas was more like A Midsummer Night's Dream thanks to her fairylike glittering eye shadow and delicate crystal headband. "This look is so feminine, elegant and happy," says makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic. "The dewy bronze skin, coral lip and cheek work so beautifully with the powder blue eyes." Here he tells us how to create this pretty effect.
Step 1: To get a glowing complexion, skip foundation and even out your skin with a sheer tinted moisturizer, like Lancôme Rénergie Éclat Multi-Lift Multi-Action Tinted Skincare Illuminate + Lift Instant Skin Enhancer. Blend the tinted moisturizer into your face and neck using your fingers. Then apply a loose powder to the T-zone to prevent oily shine. Try: MAC Select Sheer/Loose.
Step 2: Warm up your skin and enhance the shape of your face by applying bronzer along the hairline and jawline and neck, and in the hollows of your cheeks. Try: Urban Decay Baked Bronzer for Face and Body in Gilded.
Step 3: Use your fingers to apply a coral-hued cream blush onto the apples of your cheeks. Try: Josie Maran Argan Cream Blush in Sunset.
Step 4: Fill in your brows with a matching brow pencil, like Maybelline Define-a-Brow Eyebrow Pencil.
Step 5: Apply icy blue eye shadow to the inner corners of your eyes, lids and brow bones. In the creases and outer corners of your lids, brush a darker metallic gray-taupe shadow and blend out toward the temples. Dust the same shade along the lower lash lines and smoke it out using a liner brush. Try: YSL Pure Chromatics Wet and Dry Eye Shadow in No3, which contains both shades. Step 6: Line your lips with a coral lip pencil, like L'Oréal Paris Crayon Petite Automatic Lip Liner in Warm Corals. Then apply a glossy pink-coral lipstick with gold shimmer, like NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in Happy Days.
Step 7: Mist your entire face with a hydrating spray, like Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist, to set the makeup and give it a gorgeous glow.
