There are plenty of reasons to prefer potted details at your wedding. Not only are they cute, but potted plants and flowers can last far longer than cut ones. More environmentally friendly, you can either re-plant them in your own backyard or gift them to family and friends for their own gardens.

1. Herbal Seating Chart

For your garden wedding, arrange your tables by herb. Stake guest names into the soil inside. With lavender, basil, and lemon verbena, we guarantee that this seating chart will draw your guests in with its amazing scents!

2. An Untamed Secret Garden

Give your outdoor ceremony a wild, untamed quality with large plants in terra cotta pots placed along each row. With a forest backdrop and slightly overgrown grass this ethereal, boho setting is pretty magical.

3. Potted Favors

Plant mini succulents into gold spray-painted pots and leave them at each place setting for a lovely wedding favor. Or, if you have a lot of empty vertical space, consider creating a vibrant wall for guests to grab from on their way out the door.

4. Botanical Table Numbers

These affordable centerpieces double as holders for your table numbers. When paired with votives, wooden folding chairs, and a burlap runner it is a great look for a rustic event.

5. Lots of Color

Love the idea of potted plants, but not a bunch of terra cotta on your table? You have tons of options. Paint ceramic pots in bright colors (above, left) or plant small portions of either ground cover plants or tiny flowers in low Mason jars. Wrap them in colored paper and surround them with wildflowers in vases for a farm wedding tablescape sure to delight!

6. Faux Planters

Perhaps you love the concept of potted centerpieces, but you want bigger blooms than smaller pots will allow. Use a large planter box instead with flowers pinned into floral foam on the inside. We love this cheery rose and ranunculus centerpiece above with its rustic wooden box!

7. Modern Planter Boxes

Potted centerpieces aren't just for rustic weddings. Use gold painted boxes to house potted ferns for a cool, modern effect! It adds just enough greenery without interfering with the otherwise minimalist decor.

9. Planter Box Aisle Decor

Not only are these planter boxes filled with succulents and flowers beautiful, they are also cost-cutting. Easy to carry from the ceremony to reception venue, your flowers can serve double duty, making your budget stretch!

10. Hanging Installation

Transform your space using potted floral arrangements suspended from retro-chic macrame hangers. This tablescape also included smaller potted plants dotted throughout the linen table runner.
