Cool Palm Springs Wedding with Rock 'n' Roll Vibes

Cool Palm Springs Wedding with Rock 'n' Roll Vibes

If there's one place in the world that churns out the very coolest weddings and the most awesome couples, it's got to be Palm Springs.

So before we even opened the email on Presley & Dustin's gorgeous backyard bash, we knew it was going to be a fun one.

Their Palm Springs meets rock'n'roll themed wedding was captured by the talented Karsyn Taelyr Photography.

Rock meets romance, was the vibe of the celebrations, with black candles, white fur, and an abundance of beautiful blooms. The edgier details were paired with tropical touches, inspired by the desert backdrop.

But it was this gorgeous couple that brought the real style to the soiree, with Dustin and his groomsmen all decked out in sharp black suits, (very Johnny Cash), and Presley and her girls, stunning in lace dresses, for a bohemian look, with glamorous touches (think half Fleetwood Mac, half Pricilla Presley).

Scroll down to swoon over this unique wedding, but be sure to read Presley's super sweet write up too, this, is a lady in love!

Our Wedding Day

October 10th, 2015. The day I married my best friend around family and friends in the courtyard of the house I grew up in. I still cannot believe I got to marry the man who I still could not believe liked me, let alone wanted me to be his wife. He asked me to marry him on Christmas a year ago. He waited until I had all of my makeup off and was in my onesy pajamas to get down on his knee. I felt like my heart had stopped and it hasn't started since.

My parents had worked on the house for months trying to make it beautiful for us, and it was. It was a beautiful fall day and you could feel the magic in the air. In the morning we got ready with friends and family, drinking Champagne and going over wedding vows, laughing and celebrating. I don't think either of us have ever been so calm as we were that morning. Walking down the aisle to Simon and Garfunkel's, 'America' about two lovers embarking on an adventure together, was a dream. I had always wondered what my groom's face would look like as I walked down, and Dustin had a smile on his face with tears in his eyes. It was the most special moment and I still tear up thinking about it. After the ceremony we took pictures, ate Mexican food from our favorite restaurant Azteca on tables with black candles and white fur with palm napkins and beautiful white flowers with art deco glasses. We sat while our friends and family gave us toasts filled with tears and laughter. People kept saying they had never seen so many speeches at a wedding, we felt so blessed. The dancing started with a tearful father/daughter dance and went on to the bride and groom's first dance to The Carpenters 'We've Only Just Begun'. Then it was time to rock and roll, and that's exactly what we all did. The celebration went on to the wee hours on the night and singing all of our hearts out to all of our favorite song, Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and dancing the night away. We had always wondered what our wedding would be like, and can't even put it to words. Not only did we have a wedding that was unimaginable, but most importantly I got to marry someone I still don't even feel is human. God sent me this funny angel that I feel blessed to call my husband. I keep saying that word husband over and over because it doesn't even feel real still. Now we can rock and roll for the rest of our life together. I love you.

So romantic, right? I just love Presley's wedding day look, the black beads in her bouquet are a really lovely touch, oh, and fun piece of trivia, Presley and I have the same engagement ring! (No wonder I'm such a fan of her style!)

Thanks so much to the wonderful Karsyn Taelyr Photography, and of course, Presley & Dustin for sharing their cool Palm Springs wedding with us.
