From Lisa O'Dwyer Photography: "It was inspired by a Nordic goddess bride, Freya the goddess of love. Freya (or Freyja) is the Norse goddess of love and was the wife of Odin. She is famous for her fondness for love, fertility, beauty, and fine material possessions, and is considered to be something of a "party girl' of the Norse legends.
We wanted to convey this image in our shoot. She wears a simple crown of greenery which represents her connection to nature and pagan goddesses of another time. We wanted her to be realistic and provide inspiration to modern wedding couples, and so she is with one of her bridesmaids in the shoot. We wanted to channel the beauty of the feminine in this inspiration with the makeup, hair, dresses, and cakes. The sparse industrial almost Scandanavian style of Blanc, a wedding venue in Denver, was the perfect location for this inspiration shoot.
