Anna and Hamish met in university when a mutual friend introduced them in class. "We ended up sitting together for the rest of the semester," Anna laughs. "But we didn't start dating until a year later when another mutual friend flat-out told us to 'finally start dating.'"

The couple's wedding day began with a traditional Greek ceremony at St. George's Orthodox Church. "Walking down the aisle to the theme music from The Lord of the Rings was one of my favourite moments of the day," Anna smiles. "Even though the morning was rushed, everything calmed down once I stepped out and saw my family and friends."

For the reception, Anna and Hamish made sure to highlight a few of their favourite things. Favours were bags coffee beans from the couple's go-to coffee shop, Sense Appeal. For dessert, apple fritters were served from SanRemo, a bakery the couple often go to. "They are hands-down the best fritters in the city," Anna says. "Guests couldn't stop raving about them for days afterwards!"

Since Anna's family is Greek, baklava from Serano Bakery, just off the Danforth (Toronto's Greek neighbourhood), was a must.

Anna and Hamish agree that music also played a huge role in their wedding day. "We used "Best Day of My Life" by American Authors for cutting the cake," Anna explains. "It was an upbeat song choice and it really was the best day of our lives."
