Heartfelt & Pretty Summer Garden Wedding - Whimsical Wonderland...

via

Natalie and Mustafa had the loveliest Summer wedding day. They created a heartfelt celebration hosted in a pretty Kent garden. With a classic marquee they created an English country garden feel complete with gorgeous natural blooms. Those coral Peony bouquets worked so well against the vibrant blue colour pop attire.

Natalie donned a romantic dress by Biba and Mustafa was suited and booted in Zara. There was a VW camper, the most delightful wedding cake and a personal outdoor ceremony.

Thanks to Parkershots Photography for sharing these super lovely images.

THE PROPOSAL | Mustafa proposed on holiday in Turkey. We had a lovely, romantic meal outside in the hotel gardens where Mus got down on one knee and proposed! It came as a complete surprise and being completely overwhelmed I ended up crying (happy tears of course!)

THE VISION | I always wanted to have a relaxed, outdoor wedding. We knew we didn't want anything overly formal or traditional as it's just not us, so when a family friend offered for us to use the grounds of their gorgeous country house, we knew it would make the perfect venue! The venue was so personal to us as I had grown up there with my brother and sister playing in the gardens so I wanted to create a really personal, heartfelt wedding with a rustic, vintage feel. I loved the idea of bringing the outside in with beautiful garden flowers in vintage vases and wooden bird cages for decoration.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | Once we had decided on the venue and the date was set we knew the marquee was the most important thing to book, even in the heart of summer you can't guarantee the weather in England! We did all our research online - Marquee companies, Caterers etc and just made sure to book these asap as for us the environment, food and music is really what creates a good wedding. We were incredibly lucky that we had a friend who was a make up artist, one who was in a band and one who's a photographer! We knew that we loved their work and so booked them straight away! We then looked into wedding outfits, the wedding rings and the decorations for the marquee. Not to mention we planned the entire ceremony ourselves as it was conducted by our friend outside in the garden with our own personal wedding vows! Prioritising what the most important aspects of your day are and what you are happy to spend a little more money on really help to focus the day and the odd list and spreadsheet always help!

THE VENUE | A private country house near Cranbrook in Kent.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | My wedding dress is from Biba, they have a gorgeous collection of soft, floaty dresses with a vintage feel. My jewellery was from Coast and my shoes from Hobbs.

FINDING THE DRESS | I think I was possibly the least traditional bride when it came to finding my dress! I looked in all the beautiful bridal shops, but the dresses were too fussy and just weren't for me. I then started looking online and just fell in love with the Biba Bridal collection. When I tried my dress on for the first time it just felt right.

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Mus actually bought his suit from Zara Mens. Being tall and slim Zara fits him perfectly and he had always wanted a modern, slim cut suit rather than a traditional morning suit.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | The ceremony was incredibly personal. We wrote our own vows, our friend conducted the ceremony, the bridesmaids and ushers each read a quote about marriage and my mother did a reading from Captain Corelli's Mandolin. We had live music for the reception by our friends band, they did a real mix of old and new songs that got everyone on the dance floor! Our first dance was to 'Falling in love at a coffee shop' by Landon Pigg.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | My sister Aimee and my three closest friends who I've known for years, Sophie, Catie and Vicky were my beautiful bridesmaids.

THE FLOWERS | The flowers were a mix of garden flowers and flowers from a local florist, which my mum put together in vintage vases on the tables and in jam jars tied with string on the backs of the aisle chairs for the ceremony. My bouquet and the head table featured Peonies, which I love. We wanted to create a real feel of an English country garden in the marquee and so the flowers were very loose and mixed as if they had just been picked from the garden.

THE CAKE | Our wedding cake was home made by my very talented friend Lucie Parker. It was a Victoria sponge cake with soft butter icing on the outside simply decorated with a cascade of flowers from the garden.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Nick Parker was our photographer and being a close friend as well as a very talented photographer it meant that he knew exactly what we wanted and took the most beautiful, personal photos on the day. He is great at capturing a moment and creating a feel for the atmosphere and excitement of the day, which was so important to us.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | We had a complete blank canvas with a marquee. There are so many great online sites for decorative bits and pieces. We also used local shops and charity shops for the vintage vases.

THE HONEYMOON | We went to Phucket island in Thailand for our honeymoon which was stunningly beautiful. We fell in love with South East Asia after travelling together for 9 months when we were first together so it was amazing to go back and do the more luxurious side of it!

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Hearing each others personal vows for the first time was such a special moment and just the feeling of celebration after the ceremony and dancing the night away with all our favourite people!

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | If you're planning your own wedding you will need to do lots of research! Every company/individual that we used was either highly recommended online or a personal recommendation and it just meant everything ran smoothly and worked out perfectly! It may sound obvious, but make sure the day is for you as a couple, it's very easy to over worry about everyone else, but just remember that your guests are there for you and make sure to relax and celebrate your day with each and every one of them!
