Bringing a newborn home is just the most precious moment, so many new mummy's and daddy's want to capture those first few days at home. These darling images by Australian photographer Liesl Cheney show how baby Patrick settled into his new colourful nursery straight away; aren't the hot air balloons such a perfect motif for a nursery's walls?
I knew the tiny newborn stage would be fleeting and I wanted some great pictures of the baby to help me remember. We were lucky enough to have a relationship with Liesl, who had shot our wedding photos, and I knew that she would do a terrific job and make the shoot fun instead of stressful. What I wanted most was to capture those tender moments at home, just as they were.What does being a mother mean to you? Having Patrick has brought me more joy - and more fun - than I knew existed. I'm looking forward to beach holidays, reading him "big kid" books like Alice in Wonderland and Asterix books, and most of all getting to watch as his lovely personality unfolds.
