Tetra Mountains Destination Wedding in Poland | Fly Away Bride

via

Sean and Magda married in Koschieisho, a small village just outside of Zakopane in the very southern tip of Poland, almost touching the border of Slovakia. The couple had holidayed there and it was also where Sean proposed to Magda so it holds a very special place in their hearts. The Tetra Mountain region of Poland is a magical place, with little wooden cabins nestled amongst the trees and wilderness that rises up into the mountains. The couple's big day was captured by the brilliant team at Matt + Lena Photography.

DECIDING ON THE DESTINATION

Magda is originally from Poland and both she and Sean now live in Ireland. It was on a visit to Zakopane in Poland that Sean proposed to Magda and the couple had visited the area a few times, so this location was very special to them and an obvious choice when they went looking for a wedding location.

THE WEDDING DAY

Sean and Magda found the most amazing wooden log church in the mountains for their ceremony, with beautiful wood carvings on the walls and stained glass windows. Traditional Polish folk musicians led the the wedding party both into and out of the ceremony. The reception venue was only a stone's throw down the road at a pretty little wooden cottage. The decor was eclectic, rustic and woodsy which suited the wedding theme perfectly. There was so much food and so much dancing, and of course a bottle of Polish vodka on the table for everyone! The dancing started at five in the evening and went on to five in the morning, overall it was an absolutely amazing experience.
