Embrace the Rainy Day

From the Bride: One thing We didn't plan for was rain the morning of my wedding. It was a little upsetting but I had to tell myself.. "This is my special day and I'm going to embrace every moment with joy & excitement." We had an outdoor venue so we had to go with our plan B option because the pasture we had planned to get married in was too wet for our guests to walk in. We thought it was going to rain during our ceremony but a few hours before the gray clouds parted and it was a beautiful day.

Pinterest Frienemy

Pinterest & wedding blogs were both my friends and my enemies. We got lots of ideas and inspiration but I was also on a budget and I couldn't do everything I saw a picture of. After pinning my heart out I had to come down to reality and tell myself, "Okay, this wedding isn't going to be exactly like this picture and I have to be okay with that." Some of the things we made:
-My sister and mom made all of the guy's boutonnieres.
-My mom made all of my girls monogrammed beach bags.
-Some of my crafty friends made most of my wedding decor.
-My dad found some old palette wood and made my custom popcorn stand.

DIY Wooden Seat Signs

Materials:
Pencil, Carbon Paper, Wooden Plank, Power Drill, Rope, Sharpie OR Wood Burning Tool

Step 1:
Using carbon paper, trace your wanted text on to the wooden plank, darken text with either a sharpie or if you are feeling really ambitious a wood burning tool.

Step 2:
Drill two holes in the top of the plank wide enough to insert rope through. Loop rope through holes to create sign hanger.

Advice to brides on a budget: try to always pay things upfront or at the latest 3 months before the wedding. The last thing I wanted was to have my poor mother being hassled by vendors while she's zipping up my dress. Paying your vendors in advance saves you so much stress the day of your wedding which to me is priceless.

Step 3:
Attach signs to Bride and Grooms chairs along with a few florals for an additional Wow factor!
