I always knew I wanted a newborn shoot for little Annie but I was unsure how I was going to feel when she arrived. However a couple of days after she was born I felt that these moments were far too precious not to be captured, I wanted to hold on to them forever! So I contacted a friend of a friend Hannah McClune who is a brilliant photographer to see if she had any spaces. Luckily for me she did and we did this shoot when Annie was seven days old in her nursery at home. Hannah was amazing, so warm and friendly and a mum herself (in fact she was also heavily pregnant) so I knew I was in good hands and little Annie was such a good girl - a natural born poser!

I have to say I was unsure about being photographed in my postpartum way - very worried about my jelly belly and in fact little Annie was sick 10 minutes before Hannah arrived so I had to have a complete outfit change too! But when I look back now (almost 18 months later) I am so pleased we are in the shots with her. I will cherish these photos forever and I would advise any new mum to have some. Don't worry about what you look like, what the house looks like, or how your baby is going to be, just book one. I promise you won't regret it!
