Who wouldn't feel the love when they walk in to find a grand staircase and tons of gorgeous gowns? anna bé creates a welcoming culture that makes you never want to leave. Knowing that shopping for a wedding dress can be intimidating and overwhelming, Anna, one of the owners, strives to make it a place where brides can feel themselves and will leave with exactly what they want. We sat down with her to find out what makes anna bé so special to her and the brides.

Who is your bride?

The bride that comes into our store is somebody who is a savvy shopper and knows a little bit about what she's looking for. That doesn't necessarily mean that she's brand conscious or anything like that but, she's somebody who prides workmanship and who prides a great experience. She has that "Colorado" laid back feel to her.

What sets you apart from other bridal shops?

People have been with us for years and I think that's something that we're both really proud of and something that sets us apart. It speaks a lot about the culture that we have here but also the knowledge and experience that a bride is going to get. I think the environment that we create here is a great experience and we know how to deliver fun but also professionalism. Wedding dress shopping can be stressful and we want this process to be something that is fun for you, your friends and everybody. We really want to take care of you and to deliver an amazing experience. A lot of times that's also reading the bride. Are we more formal or less formal? We have a whole range. We certainly have the high end brands, but we're not a high end store. We have everything from starting at $1,500 and go up from there. If you come in and your budget is $1,800 or $8,000, you're not going to be treated any differently. I think that's really important, too.

Who would you recommend the bride bring with her?

The bride should limit it to the people whose opinions she really values or really wants their buy in. That might mean that you can shop by yourself - which is totally fine. I want to emphasize that that is okay because I feel like sometimes brides come in and they are like, "I am so sorry, I didn't bring anyone." And that's okay! I don't bring someone when I go shopping. It's easier sometimes. But, for some people, bringing in their friends is half the joy of it. It's part of the experience with their bridesmaids or with their mom or a bonding moment with their future mother-in-law. But as a bride, just be sure that they will be on your side and that they have your best interest in mind. If not, pick out the dress and have them help you do the accessories shopping!

What is your favorite part of your job?

This may be counter-intuitive to what I just said but, I love seeing the relationships between the bride and her mom, the bride and her friends, the bride and her sister - when they're good. And I'm a total sucker. If somebody else is crying, I'm crying right there with them. This tells me that I'm probably in the right business if, after all these years, I still feel this way. It is really emotional and really special. It's an honor to be a part of it and to be with them during this part of the process.

What inspires you?

There are lots of things. The team that we've built here really does inspire me to try and continue to be better and to keep stepping it up. When we opened the store 10 years ago, we felt like the entire bridal landscape needed a refresher and we feel like that has happened. I'd like to think that we were part of it and part of inspiring other people to be better so that just means that we have to keep setting the bar higher and higher and continue to create a culture where everybody is having fun and creating a joyous atmosphere where the brides just never want to leave.

Any advice for the bride and the groom on their wedding day?

Just focus on the fact that you're marrying each other. I think everything else can fade away. So your bustle breaks. So what? So it rains. So what? I really think there is nothing more important than remembering why you're there. It's so easy to get caught up in the details. And it's okay if the flowers aren't the exact color or if something is delayed. It's okay! You're still getting married to the person you love.
