5 West Coast Honeymoons You'll Love

Looking for a domestic honeymoon destination? Here are 5 West Coast cities that you will love to visit!

Seattle, WA

From the excitement of Pike Place Market to the chaos of a Seahawks game, Seattle certainly delivers the fun. This city's music and theater scene is still thriving, so make sure to catch a show while you are in town. There are plenty of ways to enjoy Seattle's diverse personality, whether you enjoy museums or shopping. Devote a day to touring the town of Bainbridge Island, just a 30 min ferry ride from downtown. Trust us, you won't regret the voyage into rural, small town charm.

San Francisco, CA

In the middle of honeymoon planning and considering destinations, San Francisco might not occur to you, but we can't figure out why not. With a diverse arts scene and cheesy tourist activities in spades, it's brimming with honeymoon potential. Check out their art museums and parks. Head for a hike in Muir Woods. Go to Chinatown and eat everything on the dim sum cart. Ride a trolley. Devour a Ghiradelli sundae. And yes, why not Alcatraz? There are plenty of easy jokes to accompany your Instagram photos about marriage as a life sentence.

Portland, OR

This vibrant city is about more than putting a "bird on it" and militant bike messengers (although "Portlandia" might argue otherwise-okay, they did nail that Portland loves their brunch scene). Expect to find great coffee shops on nearly every corner, an awe-inspiring brewery scene, and more DIY inspiration than you can handle. But travel just a bit outside the city and you will realize why Portlanders stay despite the gray winters. Within easy driving distance you can access the rugged Oregon coast, taste wines at world-renowned wineries, or hike to the top of Multnomah Falls. In other words, there is something here for every type of couple.

Victoria, British Columbia

Nope, this isn't just your grandmother's vacay spot. Victoria is surrounded by interesting neighborhoods filled with fantastic bookstores, pubs, tearooms, and nightlife. I recently went on a scotch tour of Victoria and had an amazing time (the selection at Bard & Banker, above, was especially difficult to choose from). Either bring your car or rent one so that you can explore other areas of Vancouver Island, including the very charming town of Nanaimo and the world-famous Butchart Gardens. Pack lots of light layers because Northwest weather can often be a little unpredictable.

Disneyland, CA

For the bride and groom who are total kids at heart, nothing quite beats a trip to Disney. With three distinct parks all located in one area (Disneyland, Downtown Disney, and California Adventure) you won't run out of things to do! And don't think that the kids have the market on all the playfulness. From nostalgic romance on Main Street (above) to wine bars in Disney California Adventure, grown-ups can have their own itinerary. For the least amount of crowds, go in early spring (before all the schools let out for their spring break) or in autumn.
