When the pumpkin season is in full swing, you mainly use it for cookery reasons: warming pumpkin soups or Cheesecakes are surely right choice for cool misty days. But the shape and the color of a pumpkin is so sunny that it illuminates the room. I rarely use natural pumpkins to decorate the flat, they only ornament the shelf while waiting for their turn in the kitchen. I much prefer to make a material Pumpkin Mock-up and eat the real vegetable.

While looking for some autumn ornament inspiration, I've found a project which is right up my street. Kimberly of A Night Owl has shared a neat tutorial on Painted Wood Slice Pumpkins. Her adorable wooden pumpkins take just a while to prepare and you get a marvellous autumn accent in your home decor.
