Enchanting Chateau de la Bourlie Wedding

Enchanting Chateau de la Bourlie Wedding

It has been a fabulous week on the blog and I am rounding off our real weddings with a enchanting Chateau de la Bourlie wedding captured by Susie Lawrence Photography. I love bride Chloe's enchanting and whimsical bridal style, that she accomplishes with a Pronovias wedding dress that is accessorized with loose boho curls and flowers in her hair.

Our couple today's Nick and Chloe got engaged on a weekend in Puglia, Italy. I would like to thank Susie Lawrence for submitting this magical wedding and adding a little of the whimsical to end the working week.

Bride Chloe takes us through their story: " Nick surprised me with a weekend in Puglia, Italy. He was too excited to wait so at 05:30 on the Saturday morning whilst everyone else in the Masseria was sleeping he got down on one knee holding out a wooden ring that he had carved himself. It was the easiest yes of my life so far.

We spent our first proper Summer holiday together travelling through France so it was at the top of the list when we began looking into where to get married. With such a vast offering of wedding venues it can be quite overwhelming when searching into which area of France to focus on, so this is what took up most of our time at the beginning. It was actually really fun sat with the laptop and scrolling through hundreds of gorgeous options, but it was after two trips and a great deal of driving around that we were really able to hone in on our final chosen area of the Dordogne. There is something magical about the drive up to Chateau de La Bourlie and then as you turn the corner and it's full glory comes into sight...wow! Breathtaking. It ticked all of our boxes of being able to hold the ceremony outside, having an inside option to eat in case of bad weather, the family could be on site and more. Some of our friends could even "glamp" in the Chateau's very own bell tents. We had already had a legal ceremony in the UK before we got to the Chateau which meant that we were able to ask a close family friend to conduct a truly personal "symbolic" ceremony. It was incredibly moving and so special to us to be surrounded by our nearest and dearest in the most beautiful, natural setting. The abroad wedding theme featured with paper plane "Save the Dates" and wooden luggage labels engraved with each guests names which acted as both place settings and favours, handmade by Nick. He also built each centre piece/table name which were wooden sign posts with our favourite locations. We had great fun seeing all our guests during the lead up to the wedding and taking pictures of them in fancy dress using an instant camera. Some fantastic memories were created collecting those photos and they were an excellent feature which caused a lot of chatter as our seating plan. We put together welcome packs in airmail envelopes, that we delivered to the hotels in order to provide our guests with all the detail they would need over the weekend. Our guest book was a wine barrel that will be used as a coffee table in our home.

It was an amazing adventure from start to finish, and one our photographer Susie Lawrence captured in the most gratifying way. We can't thank all those that were involved enough."
