Happy Wednesday everyone! And it truly is a happy day here at Wedding Sparrow HQ as we're showing off a double feature that we worked on with a very talented bunch of vendors back in April for the sweetest couple in the world. Sarah & Shaun both currently live in Singapore and trawled through Wedding Sparrow looking for the best film photographers here in the UK. After contacting our sponsor Taylor & Porter Photographs, we worked together to create a two-part engagement/elopement in Glasgow and the Highlands where they met! Stay tuned for the styled elopement part later this afternoon!
From the bride, Sarah: "Scotland holds many fond memories for us as we first met there in 2007 when we studied medicine at the University of Glasgow. Having our engagement shoot at the university was something we had always wanted to do as we had spent most of our courtship years in this lovely city as students. In addition, there was just something hauntingly beautiful and serene of this 400 year old university building that we wanted to capture in our pictures."
We had both lived in Singapore before university but never knew of each other's existence till we left home and travelled all across to another part of the world! We met in 2006, shared our first date at a pub in 2007 (of course, it's glasgow!) and got engaged in Jerusalem in May 2013. We were both in quite awkward situations of our lives when we first met and many people we knew were skeptical of our relationship. It will be 7 years when we tie the knot in November this year; we've had our ups and downs, but are very much in love like when we first got together. We started shooting at Glasgow University at 630am in the morning under temperatures of 6-7 degree celsius! There were many moments I thought I was insane to put myself through this, but it was all eventually worth it. The morning mist and gentle sunlight made our photographs priceless. Louise and Teo were sent from heaven to us. We only communicated through email right till the very first day of the shoot but Louise was always so friendly and available in all our discussions. She listened readily to what our expectations were and offered her expert opinion without any judgement! We were so impressed with the amount of homework both Louise and Teo had done for our shoots as well- they did all the liaising with the venues we wanted to shoot at Glasgow, planned all the poses for the photographs and even had a playlist of our favourite music! They work perfectly well as a team and we felt completely safe in their hands. They never gave up finding the right light, the right angle and the right backdrop for us, we are truly appreciative of such dedication. The photos? We relive the beautiful memories of Scotland we share every single time we look at them.
