Bitchless Bride: Engaging, Educating and Entertaining Every Bride-To-Be - Blog - The Truth Hurts Tuesday ~ Sometimes, I Wish I Wasn't a Planner

OMG, bridey... I just don't fucking feel like it! I don't feel like plunging into the fall wedding season pool of drama. I don't wanna. I don't feel like being a shrink, a referee, a "nice guy" and your bitch this fall season. You know why? Because I have some shit that I'm dealing with lately, and while I have learned to put my personal "baggage" aside, so that I can sift through yours, bridey, some days are harder than others. Some days I find it almost impossible to keep my grin plastered on my face.

Honestly? Sometimes I wish I followed in the family footsteps and became an attorney so that a callus, straightforward attitude was the norm; no bullshit required. Just the truth, no rainbows, no unicorns, no fluff, no bullshit... only the truth. Because I'm getting pretty tired of the bullshit, bridey. It's exhausting. And like I said, I don't fucking feel like it. I don't feel like putting on a face when all I want to do is tell you to quit whining about finding the perfect flowers to perfectly match the bridesmaids dresses. Because I don't care... But, what's a girl to do? Seriously? Wedding and event planning is ALL I know how to do! It's all I have ever done. And right this second, I don't want to play anymore.

Some of you will read this, think I'm full of shit and move on to the next pretty, frilly wedding blog. And that's okay. Maybe I'm not what you need. Maybe you want beautiful pics without the advice. But, if you want to learn something, then I suggest you keep scrolling. Allow me to edcuate you so that your wedding planning experience is a positive one.

Basically bridey, when you make it easier on me, you make it easier on yourself. Didn't hire a wedding planner? Doesn't matter. Because I can assure you that every vendor you hired and the chick (or dude) you're working with at the venue you've selected are kinda looking forward to the fall wedding season, and kinda dreading it all at the same time. I know I am! And what can you do about it? Be the bride that all other brides are compared against. I mean... All of us in " the industry" have our favorites, and all you have to do to achieve "fave status" is to 1. Be nice. 2. Be considerate of our time. 3. Be excited to get married to your sig other. 4. Be patient; we work with other clients too... 5. Be consistent. (A solid sense of humor is extra credit!)

Seems simple enough, right? So why don't more you brideys follow these teeny tiny steps? Not only will you save your sanity while planning your wedding, but you'll most definitely achieve "fave status" amongst your vendors. Looks like a win win to me, right?Got it? Good!! Stay Bitchless!!
