Gabby + Alex knew from the start that they didn't just want to pass off the design + planning responsibilities for their wedding, show up, and call it a day. While that may sound like a dream to some couples, these two wanted to be 100% immersed in the details, work closely with talented friends + family members who were excited to chip in, and plan a celebration that was design-focused + reflective of their personalities. For their stunning, handmade Palm Springs wedding, they designed everything from the rad paper goods to the garlands hanging from their ceremony chuppah and shopped for fun finds like geodes, cacti, and vintage Moroccan rugs to decorate the space. All of their hard work really couldn't have paid off in a bigger way because their celebration, captured perfectly by Studio Castillero, was just about as amazing as it gets!
More about the inspiration from Gabby, In drawing up our wedding plans I pulled inspiration from our day-to-day lifestyle, our love for desert getaways and my most cherished childhood memory of family camp. With the Korakia Pensione as our wedding landscape, "desert camp with a Moroccan-Mediterranean vibe" became our theme. From the moment we stepped foot on the Korakia grounds we felt at home in a land far far away - Korakia is sort of magical in that way. We set out to find a venue that could host a weekend getaway and not just a day-long event. We wanted to spend as much time as possible with our most loved. The architectural treasure that is the Korakia made it the first place we could picture really feeling relaxed on our wedding day - we were sold.
From the camping-inspired mugs to the bridesmaid's colorful carnation flower crowns, no detail was overlooked.

For my bridesmaids, I wanted to create the look of individual "outfits" that would complement each other and work with the backdrop of a cool desert night. I emphasized the idea of mixed texture and style (jumpers, skirt/top combos and dresses included). Winter florals vs. solids, sleeves vs. no sleeves, movement vs. structure, long vs. short, where all in the plan. After reviewing at my style inspiration board, my sister-in-law described the look as "French 70′s desert fashion" which summed it up just perfectly. When I stumbled upon Reformation it was exactly what I was looking for and all in one line, which made the bridesmaid "project" easy. I chose to accessorize with carnation flower crowns and cuffs. I liked the simplicity and boldness of the carnation against the different textile patterns and colors. I gave the girls little leather drawstring pouches made by BAGGU (exclusive to the General Store, Venice Beach, CA), which turned out to be a great accessory for the night.
